Wow 29.00 dollars for oxtails well Walmart has oxtails for 16.00 dollars ,no higher than that. A nice size pack too, just a little information. Anyway thank you for sharing your delicious looking oxtail recipe ,you are a great cook.

Oh man! you really took me back! My mother used to make the best short ribs with red gravy! (mashed potatoes fried squash) I love oxtails too! I became vegetarian 9 yrs ago & if I ever think about it, I crave short ribs & red gravy & baked oxtails! If I ever go back to eating meat, this will be my first dish! And you're right! the price of oxtails are ridiculous! I remember when they were dirt cheap & we ate a lot of them! Makes the best soup too!

Buy whole tails have them cut to your specifications I buy them by the box for $90.00 in my area. You are 100% correct Ox Tails are really expensive. I have the FOOD SAVER machine so my meat, vegetables, cheeses, fish, are vacuumed sealed which keeps everything from freezer burn.

Once u take them out after beginning flip over then cover with foil.how long do I keep it in there before I put gravy on it n put it back in there for an hour

Every now and then I treat myself to some Oxtails. Theyre just too darn expensive. Does anyone know WHY this particular meat is expensive as it is...??? So I rarely buy it. But thank you for this recipe irs another way to cook this darn expensive meat.
