A real journey of our long-forgotten history, Manuscripts marked the beginning of preserving age-old knowledge, a giant leap for humanity. You have indeed brought it out alive, with a touch of our Indian heritage. Keep the good work up.🤩
@@Abhiiragavarapu i am trying to say is that our ancestors werent hipsters, they used this method because there was no other way - if you try to recreate this youre a hipster. Your ancestors would think their progeny didn't develop intelligence.
@@subratanandy2142you're very perceptive sir, I agree with you - surplus labour work was relegated to those who could be exploited at quite discounted rate, the writers did not labour to create the condition of possibility of his own work.
That is fascinating! It's also quite interesting how the style of producing manuscripts spread throughout South and SE Asia as well, and how you can see the influence of it in the sorts of scripts used.
Whenever I talk about the greatness of our ancient people some random people come and comment like if they were so knowledgeable then why did they write on palm leaves and not discovered paper......I tried to find the reason on internet but never found satisfactory results that why our ancient sages who had great wisdom couldn't discovered Paper....then I researched about making of palm leaves before writing, then I concluded that they have made these palm leaves so strategically so that they can preserve their writings for centuries....if they have written it on paper it must have been destroyed early.....I don't know if my hypothesis is correct or not, but I truly believe that their must have been a solid reason behind writing on palm leaves and not on paper. Well thanks for making this video.. it's really great feeling to watch ancient things making in modern era.
This is absolutely phenomenal. I'm learning a kavacam and it mentioned wearing a palm leaf manuscript on your arm and I was fascinated. Your video came up and it was just mesmerizing. Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing it.
That's a lot of hard work! I wonder when did the writers move to using ink directly on the palm leaves instead of inscribing them w the metal pen first. Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Really awesome . I saw it for the first time. Thanks a lot for sharing this. Amazing knowledge. I can co-relate why in ancient time wrtting was not that common for common man.we only find manuscripts writing about battles wars, etc from handful of ancient scholars. Orally shared knowledge is what was very common.
We Odias also write it in them, even on bamboo shoots. Palm leaves are called Taala/Tadhei Patraw and the manuscripts are called Bhurja patraw respectively, in Odia.
This is a brilliant video. It is precise, technical, and there is a complete absence of unnecessary jingoism. Brilliant. Thanks for making this video. Admire your dedication.
Oh no the process is quite difficult we have to make this thing using paper and leaves for our holiday assignments i have no idea how to do such a difficult thing but thank you so much for the nice video Amazing videos are always appreciated ❤😊
Very nice video but bro kya ham palm leaf ke alawa koi aur leaf bhi use kar sakte hai and ye palm leaf milega kaha? Kya ham palm leaf ko ghar me laga sakte hain?
beautiful. i wonder how difficult is it to make curves when writing on palm leaf? scripts carved in stone or wood often have more angles and straight lines because they're a lot easier to make, is palm leaf also like that somewhat?
Thank you! I'm interested in South Arabian languages, where palm leaf manuscripts were also made. As there were trade links between Yemen, presumably the technology was shared, I guess originating in South Asia. I'll try doing this - if I can find a palm tree like yours in England. What type of palm tree did your leaves come from? [Oops! I see you tell us the types of palm in the description - thanks!]
