Mr Faiez this is a very generalistic approach. I can leave Europe tomorrow and can live on 300,000/mth but in 2024 I will need 400,000/mth, in 2025 500,000/mth as the cost of living in Pak is at CPI 40% pa. Then once I have converted the Forex and obtained the 9 crores I am now invested in PKR, even at 10% annual return of 90 lacs per year the 9 crores is losing value each day. Its probably do-able if one is single but wont be practical for a 45 year old with a wife and three kids aged 10-14 years as education costs will be astronomical as well. Then personal safety, lack of law and order, uncertainity, corruption, unreliable utility supplies in summer, crime rates etc. make it not a bed of roses for people to use passive income to spend the next 25 years. Another aspect worth bearing in mind is that for passive income you are reliant on the tenants paying you rents on the houses on time, again that is not certain ti happen each month like clock work, dividends are a risky income so not 100% assured, the only certain income are Govt issued SSC DSC profit certificates where again you lose due to PKR depreciation and will gradually come down the ladder over time rather than move upwards.

But where to invest that money in the country where no law occurs? In Pakistan people think more about their money security rather then profit or return which is more important.

I believe we cannot accurately estimate the cost of living in Pakistan due to the nature of its economic environment and the person striving to achieve financial independence can be disappointed when the savings and investments will keep reducing every year (in terms of dollar value as that kind of defines cost of living currently). It will be interesting to know if there is a way around it? How can we beat high inflation in Pakistan by being safe with our hard-earned savings? Also, It is good to save for the future but one should not forget to live life presently. Otherwise, It could be a huge cost to pay for just being financially free. Thanks
