We are a fun cooking community who loves to share fun and easy quick recipes for you to try in the comfort of your homes. Want to impress your friends and guest at the next dinner party or Sunday dinner then try following one of our great cooking tutorials on this channel and trust me you will leave your guest thoroughly impressed.
Soup Recipe:
1. Clean & Prep veggies and Chicken
2. Put veggies and chicken together in a saucepan
3. Boil veggies and chicken together on low heat until veggies become soft enough for for blending for about 10 mins (depending on the type of chicken used, you should allow to boil for more or less time so it is your preferred texture)
4. Put peanut butter paste, tomato puree and water into blender and blend together until very smooth (alternatively you can put peanut butter paste, tomato puree and water into a bowl and mix together with a wooden spoon or your hand until smooth)
5. Once peanut paste is ready, pour it into a saucepan and cook until it thickens and you see oil rise to the top. This means that it is ready and you can turn off the fire.
6. Once veggies are soft, remove them from the saucepan and put together in a blender with ginger, garlic and other spices or seasongs of choice and blend until smooth
7. Once blended, pour out any remaining water from the saucepan with your chicken, then add your blended veggies, salt and any other spices or seasonings of your choice to your chicken, and allow to steam together
8. After a few minutes, transfer your peanut butter paste you cooked earlier to the saucepan with your chicken and blended veggies and add some water to lighten the soup and make it thinner, then mix together.
9. At this point check the flavour of your soup and add additional salt, spices or seasonings if necessary and continue to mix well
10. Peanut soup thickens when cooking, so if the soup looks too thick as it is cooking, add a little extra water to lighten it
11. Cover your soup halfway, lower the heat and allow everything to cook together for about another 25 mins. Once you see oil rise to the top this will mean that it is ready.
Omotuo (Rice Balls) Recipe:
For this recipe we used 5 cups if rice (use less cups if making a smaller batch)
1. Wash and prep your rice
2. Pour your clean rice into a saucepan
3. Add some water to your rice, ensure your rice is completely covered
4. Add salt to taste
5. Cook rice on low heat until soft and mushy enough to knead - if rice is not soft enough, add a little more water and continue to cook
6. Once rice is cooked, use a wooden spoon to sir and knead the rice until it's mashed together as one
7. Get a clean bowl ready and add a few small drops of water into it
8. Transfer a spoonful of your cooked & mashed rice into this bowl and form your rice into a ball using your hands. Repeat until you've made all your rice balls
9. Once it is ready you can transfer your rice ball to your serving bowl of choice, add your peanut soup and enjoy together!
