This was my first attempt making a Pom Pom the first tut i used and it worked . If you follow every single step it works though it needs lot of trimming

Same here when I started learning this technique. That is the cost of learning something new. It is best to use cheaper materials first when you start so you dont get to waste the premium ones.

It is best to hand sew them on clothes. Just make sure that the yarn is color fast as it might stain clothes. Practice first in making the pompoms and make sure that each one is tightly bound and wont disintegrate in the laundry.

Mine too when I first learned how to make pom poms. Don't worry. It takes some practice to get better results. I also encourage you to check out a similar tutorial from other creators. They might teach a technique that I haven't explored. 😊 I also think that maybe the yarn you used does not puff out really well. I used what they locally call Korean milk yarn. It's soft and the individual threads are more loose.
