My late mum-in-law, who was a fantastic cook, always had the urad dal sauteed in to kick off her dishes. Oh how nostalgic it is Rick and Jack to watch you do the same! I am not so fastidious though and always omit it out of my eastern Indian curries. Let me add them back now for my mum-in-law's sake!

I can help you there! I can say for a fact that it is an All-Clad D3 Saucier, looks like the 2.3 Quart/2.1l version, which unfortunately are harder to find

If you're in the US, it'll be easy to find, but here in UK that model is slightly harder to find

This was the dish which was cooked by a Pondicherry family during his BBC show in India. I had made this recipe several times and devoured it however unfortunately had lost the recipe and was looking for it, then finally came across this video. Thank you 🙏🏻

Thanks Rick and Jack ! Those spice grinders are a pain. I can't get mine to work. $50 at Myer and I can't be bothered taking it back for repair or exchange. I think I'll use the blender and do a bigger batch of spice paste. Keep up the good work !

I've got some frozen vegetable biryani mix! I don't know what I was thinking when I got that 🤯... But now I'm going shopping to get some white fish and coconut milk 😊. Thank you for the inspiration.
