I lost my dad when I was 28 to cancer and he taught me so much from cars to plants but there's still times I have questions and your channel has answered many of those exact questions! Thank you so very much
God bless And I want to say my heart goes out to you. I lost my mother and father 5 days apart. And I was daddy’s little girl for sure. Life has been extremely hard. But I am wishing you healing and peace. Stay strong mama. They are by our side each And every day.
@@mybeastsbeauty8007 ❤ I'm so sorry. I was a daddy's girl too and an only child we were very close. I hope you are doing well . I wish it got easier or words could fix it but neither heal all of the loss. You're in my thoughts
@@jayg3242 same here. An only child. It’s been a little over a year. He died of brain cancer. Things will never be the same. I have a 2 yr old that he loved more than anything in his whole entire life and it’s painful to watch her learn and grow ana I have no one to tell all the new thing she’s does. Sending you so much love and healing ❤️🩹
@@mybeastsbeauty8007 my dad passed 12 years ago and missed the birth of his only grandchild. The only boy in our family. I wish I could say after time it gets easier but it doesn't. It just becomes more manageable I guess. My dad had lung cancer. He was diagnosed in late July of 08 and was gone by Dec 10th. Just a few months later. Hang in there love, we will keep their memories alive for our little ones.
My dad passed away this wednesday. He's crafty, he used to teach me a lot of things, and watching your videos reminds me of him in a soothing way, you make me feel better like he's still here, thank you
I just found this channel and i started crying,i lost my dad exactly 1 year ago today and my dad never got time to teach me stuff like this and i just love how you help other kids whose dads can't do this...much love 💘
Hey dodgee Fps. You are my sibling now. I lost my dad in 2002. Our "new dad" does his best to help us feel loved. I'm here for you! Big virtual hug. Lets make some popcorn!
@@T800pops whyy would you take time out of your day just to be negative, please don't be negative towards people that you don't know, you don't know their story
You deserve more than just respect. You are a great person that think more about others than yourself. A perfect man that wants to help others to become their real self. You are not just a human, you are a fighter! You may not think that about yourself. But you are helping more than you think. I love you for what you are doing and thanks again.
My father past away a few years ago, at my age of 23, and even though he did teach me a lot of things, there was sooo much more to learn, I love you for doing this.
My dad made popcorn every weekend when I was a kid. I loved watching him make it. It was like an art. Watching the lid lift off the rising popcorn and seeing pieces get away from him was so entertaining 😂.
OK, this actually brought a tear to my eyes. My dad always made the popcorn in our house, and he would put it in the same size brown paper bags. He would roll down the tops then we would watch movies together. I was a daddy's girl (had two brothers), and he passed away when I was 30. I enjoy this channel because you remind me of my dad❤️
A mom here. I use exactly the same pan for making popcorn. A couple of hints. Use corn oil to pop your popcorn, it has a high smoke point so it won't burn, and it makes the popcorn taste extra corn-y. Don't lift the top off the pan because a kernel can pop up into your face and burn you (I've had this happen). I shake the pan as soon as it starts popping. Shaking the pan helps get the unpopped kernels to the bottom and helps keep it from burning. Never leave your popcorn while it's popping or you can easily burn it! Also, if you don't like one brand of popcorn, try another, there are yummy brands out there that taste like real corn
Gonna do this for movie night. Your dad jokes are so corny I couldn’t do anything but laugh cuz that’s what makes them so funny. I’ll probably be using them later 🤣
Dear Dad, I am lucky enough to have a great dad, but I still love you for these endearing and helpful videos. I had researched the best way to make popcorn on the stove and measured oil and shook it consistently so it wouldn't burn and left the lid slightly ajar to let steam out, etc. My husband then made his own by putting it on the stove and going to take a shower. When he came back he had perfect popcorn, just as good as mine with zero effort! 😂 Thanks again for being you!
@@Suletta_Mercury First speak my language (Portuguese) as I live in Rio de Janeiro and I am humble and Christian I am not from any dirty and sinful city like Las Vegas. OK ?
We had a similar joke with my dad that he could only cook two things - popcorn and pancakes. He taught me how to make popcorn like he did and I get requests for it all the time from my own family and friends. Dads must have a gift for it.
This is exactly how my Dad taught me! I'm glad to see others getting a chance to learn how to make it. Additional Tip: If you don't have a lid for your pot, a sheet of aluminum foil with a few holes poked through the top (toothpick sized) can be crimped around and on the top of it and will do just fine. Once you make it yourself, it's sooooo much better than bagged popcorn (and you have more control over the butter/salt/seasoning)
One secret for stovetop popcorn, toss in one kernel first and wait for it to pop to make sure your burner is hot enough, then pour in the rest for an even cook time Also there's this stuff you can buy on amazon called Flavacol, it's the same stuff they use in movie theaters to flavor their popcorn
Yes I like the stuff on Amazon, the oil (coconut oil) and buttery salt, but be careful with that salt users then a pinch 🤏 because it’s so fine nothing like other salt. Sometimes it’s not available on Amazon
I lost my dad 2 years ago to Covid and he always helped me so much as a single mom. My dad told jokes too. He was my rock and my best friend. Thank you for these videos. I miss him so much.
Hey Dad, I have used microwave popcorn for years because I couldn't get the hang of making it in a pan. But your video was so easy to follow that your method worked first time, and we had hot fresh popcorn in under five minutes from making the decision. You're a superstar, thanks!
Love the fact you are choosing the old fashioned way to make popcorn. I would add to move the pan back and forth while it's heating up and the popcorn starts popping. When I put it into the paper bag, I add melted butter and salt and shake it up well. This helps to spread the butter evenly on the popcorn. I have a friend who makes herb butter which is yummy too.
Oh my goodness, I love the premise of this channel!! I'm sure you're inundated with comments like this, but my biological dad really hasn't been in my life much, and he's let me down a lot. I love that you're making content like this. Those of us without strong father figures appreciate having a surrogate dad for a few minutes haha 💗
Forget Dhar Mann raising an entire generation, THIS man is raising multiple generations simultaneously! The "hey kids" makes me want to breakdown and cry- thank you so much dad!
Watching you making popcorn, even though I know how to, cause for the first time in my 26 years of life I feel like I have a dad 💚 also I love your dad jokes so much
Ok, how I made it this far in life not knowing you can make popcorn in a pan, is beyond me. Talk about a small kitchen..I live on a boat lol due to that, I don't have appliances..... so I never have fresh popcorn🥴😬 so I'm definitely getting popcorn tomorrow and using my pan!!! Ok maybe I missed what type of oil, I watched again and didn't hear ( maybe just me) so...does it matter what oil? Thanks so much!!! I appreciate you. I'm actually excited for some fresh popcorn too! Take care of yourself! Happy 4th of July
I grew up doing popcorn the same way, sometimes even using a plate if I didn't have the lid handy. I can't eat popcorn these days, but what was really fun was also using the Jiffy Pop pre-made containers over the stove. My German friend was impressed with it.
I learned about this channel from a friend on Facebook. I came here to look at you and tell you a BIG thank you for what you are doing. What a pity that when my son was little, I could not show him your videos.
My dad taught me a little differently. Drop 3 kernels in the pot to start, cover tightly. Wait until 1 pops then add the rest of the kernels. Shake the pan gently. When the popping starts tip the lid slightly to allow steam to escape so the popped corn doesn't get damp. You can skip this step but if you do you'll find a few popped kernels that seem kind of melted from getting wet.
I have this really nice oil popcorn machine that fills up the lid which you can use as a bowl, and if you put butter in the slots on the lid and put the plastic cover back on it, it melts the butter and drips it over the popcorn as it cooks! Might just make some tonight, now!
@@Theresa5601 West Bend Stir Crazy Popcorn Maker Machine - 82707, from Target. I got it on sale for 25 bucks last year. i think it's normally about 35. Works great, has decent reviews, and they even sell their own brand of kernels, salts, etc, albeit you can use any kernel brand. My mom and I love it. Easy to clean afterwards too, and even after dozens of uses it has yet to fail popping even a single kernel! After it's done popping you just want to be careful for the steam when you first flip it over. I recommend just using ovenmitts or potholders, simple as that! Edit: they also make a ton of other West Bend popcorn makers, this was just the one we chose, so glance around!
My son and I had plans to make popcorn for movie night tonight. Thanks for the video. We enjoy making either stove top or air popped popcorn. I appreciate you taking time to make this video.
I LOVE homemade popcorn! I like to experiment with seasonings too. My favorite is salt, and melted butter that has a couple drops of Lime Essential oil added. Toss to coat and it tastes really good! Like lime corn chips!
So I need to learn how to organize my garage better. Best hooks to use for bikes, long latter, chairs and rake/shovel stuff. Trying to use vertical space since my garage is small.
The laugh you do after each dad joke is my absolute favorite 😂 I saw this joke on a sign around Father's Day: "Where do you store all your dad jokes? In a dad-a-base!" I think we live in the same town so you might have already seen that one, but it made me think of you 😄
