Actually, the darkest black is Shadow Abyss, not Abyssal sea. Sea has a greenish blue tinge which really comes out when you put it on naturally bright pieces or transparent things. This is true for all the other Abyssal colours as well. They don't normally show up well on older armour pieces but there is a reason they are expensive. Permafrost does come out of Jormag's Dye Kit but if you're interested in whites, there's a second white which you should get called Eternal Ice which is maybe 3-5 shades less white than Permafrost, which is good if Permafrost shows up too glaringly white as it usually does. Since Abyssal dyes are usually among the most expensive dyes, it's worth noting that the various dye kits can give you Abyssal Forest and Abyssal Sea for free. And one of the random birthday dye kits have a selector that allows you to pick any of the Shadow series of dyes, including Shadow Abyss.
It's only actually hard for medium armour because of trenchcoats. Light armour is basically a slider of how scandalous you want to dress and heavy armour... Well as long as your dye kung fu is good, will be at least "fine" looking.
