In Brussels (Belgium), despite the city's efforts, travelling through the city in a wheelchair is far from being an easy thing. People with physical disabilities still need to plan their trip in advance and to receive assistance, while they demand more autonomy in their travels. For this Academy WebTV video, we travelled to the Belgian capital to meet with Julien Guns to know more about his experience as a Brussels public transport user using a wheelchair. We also met with Christian de Strycker - Accessibility Manager at Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company (STIB) - and Mathieu Angelo - Director of the Collective Accessibility Wallonia Brussels (CAWaB).

Good points in the video. Also important that the stations, bus or otherwise, and the routes that get to them, are accessible. This could mean ramps, flushed curbs, and flat terrain.
