Try using around 2-8 layers to make them sound more full, make sure each layer has it's own sound, like one in the middle and one wider layer, maybe one with a more characteristic sound and so on. Make sure to process them well and don't cut away the low mids. cut out the bass only, the low mid frequencies are what makes them sound more warm/full, usually some OTT ties the layers together pretty well to make them sound as one chordstack.
