That worked out very well! I does seem strange that manufacturers use an inappropriate material in this age? Many times plastics are used for cost, but are made to the same dimensions as the original metal parts. You did well to screwcut Aluminium while holding on that narrow shoulder, I expected it to fly out of the chuck any minute! I use WD40 when drilling Aluminium, it works very well. Chris B.

I remember the MEM switchgear on the Colchester Lathes at college had plastic spindles on the main switch ,it was an exact copy of the original brass spindle, and lasted a very short while, had they increased the diameter it may have worked, but the plastic could not take the torque, so we were replacing them every few months, in times past things would be tested before being sold on to the market, but now a very qualified designer invents something, it is produced by the thousands and sold without much testing it seems. Hi. Thanks for the comments. I think the main reason for the low quality is I tried to zoom in after download onto the channel. It's very difficult to get in close why still getting enough in the viewfinder. I'll try to get in closer in the future. Keep watching as all comments help to make the videos better. Cheers.
