I use Wet N Wild makeup brushes for everything. They are very soft and work great with paint and these mica powders. They are found here in the US at the Dollar Tree but you can find them just about anywhere. They are white a bit of pink on them. Best I've ever used. Great video. Thanks for the tutorial.
Nice idea to prebrush the mica on!!! I'll be doing that on the next ones I do... I poured the "Bells and tree" in one color and when I unmold them I'm going to add another color into the deer and tree inside.
Makeup brushes can be had cheaply, and can be cut to where you want them. I also found some pointed cotton swabs (found on Amazon under a search for premium cotton swabs) I have this microbrushes as well. These are beautiful! I don't put up a tree anymore as it's just me and the cats, but I still enjoy seeing the pretties. I'm considering making molds out of my own old Christmas ornies. We'll see. I do have some pipette, but I can see now that having some in all sizes would be useful. Anyway, brilliant work!
Every time you say you're color-blind, I always think of the song of the same title. "I am folded and unfolded and unfolding I am colorblind Coffee black and egg white Pull me out from inside I am ready, I am ready, I am ready I am fine"
Can I ask how do you clean out your pipette's ? I am relatively new to resin craft, so I have much to learn! I like the first ornament the best, it's fine and colourful, not a thick ugly mess, the others were nice but definitely the first one for me!
Very festive 😀. The cat ornament is cool, I wonder if there is one with a rabbit 😅. I have that other set of moulds. I have made several batches of tree ornaments but not had time to top coat them. I did mine by adding resin in two layers. I like your idea of brushing on mica powder😀. I made coasters that way awhile ago although I did use black, blue and purple resin to fill the moulds instead of clear. Have you tried using a chameleon mica powder in a mould, Steve?
Hi Steve and all of your subscribers,i am a newbie to your channel and to epoxy,i bought a bottle of epoxy 3:1 75grams and a bottle of hardener 3:1 25grams so off i went to have a bit of fun,i made 7 little flowers in a mould and two cured the other 5 are tacky 🤔 anyway should i have mixed the 75grams epoxy with the 25grams hardener and thats it job done ?? What i did was mix 3 drops of epoxy to one drop of hardener....can you or your lovely subscribers help me x
These look fantastic! I love your videos! I'm curious about the micah powder on the resin, post-curing: do we need to dome/or finish the front of the pieces? is the micah powder embedded in the resin, or will it eventually wipe off? I love this!! Thanks for sharing!!
You call that a tap. Lol. You slammed that mould. Do you think you could do this on a plain coaster mould, a pattern or something, or would it move too much. I might try. :)))
Hello I’m curious if you’ve ever done any pieces using led lights? I just purchased 2 sets with thoughts of using them in a Christmas Gift I’m making ( waiting on a mold set of comb, trinket box and lipstick holder) I enjoy watching your tutorials!
So we're watching Christmas videos in May? And repeats of videos at that? I think you're running out of ideas. You only showed us how to fill one decoration and sped through the others! I'm so glad I cancelled my subscription after watching this! Too busy endorsing recliner chairs to care about the content of your videos.
