The Best Mutton Gravy You'll Ever Taste
Ingredients:
500g boneless mutton, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 large onion, finely chopped
2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
1 inch ginger, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 inch cinnamon stick
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
Salt to taste
1/4 cup water (or as needed)
1 tablespoon ghee (optional)
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
Sauté the Aromatics: Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon, and bay leaves. Once they splutter, add onions and cook until golden brown. Add ginger and garlic paste, saute for a minute.
Spice Blend: Add green chilies, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Cook for 30 seconds.
Cook the Mutton: Add mutton pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
Simmer and Thicken: Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the mutton is cooked through and the gravy thickens.
Garnish and Serve: Add kasuri methi and fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.
