In this video, I'm showing you how I make rosemary oil for hair growth in the Caribbean. Rosemary is used in the Caribbean as a hair growth treatment but also a dandruff treatment. It contains molecules that increase blood circulation in the scalp and have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Rosemary can also help prevent hair loss and premature graying of the hair.

💗 ROSEMARY - SALVIA ROSMARINUS (Scientific name)
Formerly called "Rosmarinus officinalis L."
Family : Lamiaceae
Rosemary plant is rich in vitamin C and A, thiamin (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2) , pyridoxine (vitamin B6) and folate (vitamin B9). It is also rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, potassium and copper.
Rosemary leaves are packed with phenolic compounds such as carnosol, carnosic acid, rosmarinic acid and ursolic acid.

I improved my hair by doing these: Having more and more vitaminC from orange, lemon, and kiwi fruit, 7-8 hrs of adequate sleep everyday, have nuts such as walnut, peanut, almonds in limited, you can also eat fishes like salmon. Exercise a minimum of 30 mins everyday. Using natural oil, neem wooden comb, scalp massager by Littleextra Cooconion twice a week. This is good for hair fall control.

Crushing plants to release oils is important. We know this as cooks so it only makes sense to do this for hair. This is the only video I've seen that crushes the leaves. Thanks for adding that step.

I had very uneven thin spots on my head where you could see my scalp. I made my own rosemary oil after seeing your videos. I added cloves, oregano and coriander. I mashed them together really well in my mortar and pestle then I double boiled them in grapeseed oil. It hasn't even been a month and I see so much growth already!!!!. I have new hair filling in those spots already!!! Thank you so much!❤

My grandma from Jamaica used to leave certain plant leaves in her oils for months as well. She would use them all over her skin, and she had such healthy, shiny skin even in her 80s.

Rice water is a protein treatment. Is Rosemary a protein treatment also? I have low porosity hair and I want to use Rosemary like you did however I don't want it to dry out my hair the way Rice water did.

I love your hair you are so beautiful! I can’t seem to get my hair going! But it’s going to happen I did grow my hair but a female cut it off I didn’t know she was cutting off all my length! So now I’m like reluctant to get going it took me years to do it!😂

Hello Rachel, I think you can find it in gardening shops. In the Caribbean you can get it for free though, you just need to ask around. Where do you live ?

The dry rosemary has lost a lot of its volatile compounds. It’s best to use the fresh leaves. If you only have dry rosemary available, you can use it to prepare a hair rinse for hair growth with other herbs and spices. Does the oil have funky smell after the 4 months you kept it away?

No there was no funky smell. You have to check the expiring date of the oil. Choose preferably an oil that is resistant to oxidation. If you add rosemary leaves to the oil, it will smell like rosemary overtime. Rosemary is a natural preservative by the way.
