OH. MY. GOSH. Your salt washes are BEAUTIFUL. I had no idea you can get such beautiful effect with salt. I have tried them before but never got what you get. I am going to experiment more with salt now that I have seen your video. Thank you so much for making this video!
Thank you! Oh my gosh, I'm so sad you've never had good experiences with salt! I love it so much, It's my gauze of fun watercolor tricks. I hope you have better experiences with it in the future!
Moonglow is so beautiful! And soooo versatile. And yeah, I usually end up with salt everywhere! And even after I scrape it off I still have salt all over my desk. But so worth it for the effect!
Can you lick the science - fine art edition. Absolutely no doubt there are people out there who need to be told not to eat the painty things. I would like to know more about granulating paint. This is intriguing. Do you know off hand if you can salt wash with acrylics? You probably don't need to answer. Even if you say "No, Stephie. You can't salt wash with acrylics" I'll probably try to anyway.
You never know with some people! And I'm sure the amount of toxins in most watercolours is too minor to poison anyone from salt alone, but I wouldn't want to risk it. Watercolours can granulate in a number of different ways! You can get super granulating watercolours made from gemstones. They're super pretty (though pricier). Acrylics would probably be too dense to create a very good salt wash? You need a very watery texture. It probably wouldn't hurt to try though?
Nice video, I enjoyed it very much and I’m thinking which paper to use right now LOL. Hope you’re planning on doing more, I know this is from a while ago but wanted to say, good job! 🤗🌺
