I think a genre can never ever die its just the evolution of the industry from time to time. Nowadays melodic beats with flows are on trending charts but maybe after sometime the boom of boombap or Dark drill will come. It's just the matter of time and people's interest. But I personally love every genre because I learn a lot through them
Exactly! I'm new at beatmaking, but I've been playing bass in all kinds of bands for a fat minute, and one thing I've noticed over the years is that peoples' taste in music tends to go in cycles. I've watched reggae music's popularity ebb and flow several times over the last 3 decades. These days, you have producers sampling hip hop records from a decade ago, and bringing that shit back from out of left field, so you really never know when something that falls out of favor is going to make a comeback. In any case, I'ma still make dark drill beats no matter what. That way, if it does fall out of favor, I'll have a nice catalog on deck for when it comes back around.
I've just comments myself on the topic and for me the darker stuff will always be more aligned with the underground scene, same with Trap, DnB, Dubstep, Techno and so on, the underground scenes are why the darker stuff will never truly die, Drill is newer to most people ears than the others I mentioned so it's just going through that learning phase still.
@@MC24DB i agree with you but there's always an evolution remember the Tupac, now people are saying that's dope and bla bla. everything comes back around full circle every genre will hit and fall. it just depends on the audience
You did your thang my guy! And I must say I've been following you for a few years now and every time I watch your videos I learn something new! This genre should NEVER die as long as you are leading the culture of it. Your input on creating beats are LIT!
I used to make beats like these before they got popular, but I felt they got a tad repetitive and I switched to other projects. Still they are some of my favourites.
In my personal opinion dark Drill beats are like dark Trap beats in the sense it will always be bigger in the underground scene, once those people go more commercial losing that dark sound is what sells. I'm a massive DnB head and the darker stuff will always be more underground, its just the way it goes.
This Beat is Dope af bro 🔥I think both genres will keep their presence, its nearly impossible that dark drill Beats will die, but for me Im also more a fan of the melodic ones 🎶
bro i swr on my life you help me so much in very tyhing i always wanted to know if i make ity pro bro swr to god gonna tel every you and god make me where i'm at...much luv jay❤❤
You should make a drill beat like TOKYO by nko and Rondodasosa Edit: Fire beat, I've been watching your videos for a good 2-3 years so I can get better at both making better drums for different genres and styles and to learn how to get better at melodies keep up the good work💯
i know its not necessary but a small jersey bounce would have work on his one but bro that little sauce with the Detroit 808 went real far on this one and gave it that pro bounce and sound.. little things that matter!!
Could u try to flip the sample of lil jon - snap your fingers, i think if u took the first 8 bars from that loop, pitch it up to "C" (original is a#minor iirc), and either try halftime and subtle sidechaining It could be turned into a jersey/drill type of beat wich will be sick with your drums 💯 And i think that sample isnt used yet too much like other 2000s hits
Jow Jay! I have a question about making a melody like this where you could be out of the scale. How do you know wich key you should put on the auto tune if you record vocals on it?
I like making dark drill beats... i feel like dark drill and trap are easier, and sound more along the lines of what rap is.... but r and drill is fire too... maybe music is changing as ususal.
I don’t think dark drill is dead it’s now just an accepted sub genre to the average listeners’ ear so it isn’t as new/shocking. Jersey/sexy drill is the new, never before heard wave now but I think dark drill is comfortably a common part of rap/trap/hip hop. 2nd part of Family Matters was dark drill !
