This Video shows how I make Simple Syrup for my Shave Ice Business. If you have any questions let me know and I would be happy to answer them. Thanks for Watching.
Bro great video becuase here in southamerica almost everyone boil the water with the sugar and its a mess with the process and offcorse the expend in electricity, so this looks like a great option to try!! Thanks a lot!
I was curious how you make your Sugar Free Simple Syrup or Shave Ice Flavors? I was also wondering if you found that any one sugar free sweetener works better than any of the others for Simple Syrup. Thanks again for the informative videos.
I was kind of curious where you purchase your buckets at please? I had purchased some but they don't seem to be expanding very well bubble most of them Park thank you in advance
Hi. I love your videos and it has helped me out. I am starting a shaved ice business this year. When I was looking over the directions from Southern Snow I didn’t see where you had to add the fruit acid and benzoate soda. I didn’t know if that makes the simple syrup last longer by itself or if you do have to put it in the simple syrup to mix it. Sorry trying to make sure I am mixing up my syrups correctly.
Hi, in my town i cant find liquid preservatives (citric acid and sodium benzoate); however i have found them both in powder. Can i use them? which would be the measures?
Southern Snow has a mixing option for 6lbs of sugar per gallon, and they reccommed 6lb for richness and strenght as ice melts(from website) Have you tried this, or would it be just to sweet? Thank you
Hey there! One quick question.... what size bottle is that you used at the end to mix the one ounce of flavor with the simple syrup? The one you showed with the flip top. Thanks!
I have a question. I follow these instruction with southern snow products.. after a day or two my simple syrup starts smelling skunky! This cant be normal.. I use the sodium benzoate and fruit acid. Any experience with this issue? Also my shop is kept at 69-70 degrees
I havent yet. Im using generic walmart sugar, one oz of B.soda and a 1/4 oz fruit acid... maybe its the cheap sugar? Also. Do you have a recipe for sugar free simple syrup? Im having a real hard time finding bulk nutra sweet and wondering if theres a good formula for splenda or steeva
Do you still use fruit acid in your mixture? And use this recipe for every flavor? Noticed southern snow says (makes flavor more tart) so wanted to clarify. Appreciate ya!
The containers are made by berry plastics. The company I used to get them from is out of business. I’ve seen them on Amazon but if you can find a place that sells a whole case you would be better off.
Yes you can make simple syrup with just water and sugar. The citric acid and sodium benzoate make it shelf stable. If you don’t add them the syrup will go bad pretty quickly.
Hello thanks for the video. I ordered concentrated syrup from southern snow. But they told me. I don’t need the fruit acid. Unless I want it sour.. Do your flavors taste sour? Do you believe I need the fruit acid??
So you believe I should get the fruit acid?? Tried ordering the fruit acid cause I came back to your video but they had already shipped out my order. But shipping is outrageous with minimum $35
Is the acid necessary? In my information packet from southern snow it only says to add the benzoate soda. It said that the acid is to be added for the acidic flavors for the extra zing?
@Fuert Neigt without the preservatives it would need to be kept cold at all times to prevent any bacteria buildup. That is the purpose of the soda additive.
@@sbrsportsbook4358 Yes it hardly takes any time plus the main benefit is the quality. Your customers will taste the quality difference. You will sell more concentrate on quality and value of product.
@@thehaddocks I live in Illinois . Im wondering if you think the flavoring is as good as the fancy Hawaiian Shaved Ice brand. Like do you think it will be exactly as pure, but cheaper just because Southern Snow Spends less on their marketing and more on the taste quality of their products. Also , shipping will have to be worthwhile, this link below they offer free shipping on orders of over 100 www.hawaiianshavedice.com/?gclid=CjwKCAiA99vhBRBnEiwAwpk-uKoFRp_5NUOJqdZIMbXCe_a0x63KhA6wI3CwYqCS7YLMdYVk-nsoPhoC_KIQAvD_BwE
I’m trying to understand on why do you need to make simple syrup? Or sugar water. Like can’t you just buy Italian soda syrup from and store and use that? Why’s sugar water needed in this business
Do u make money off of the snow cone portion of business. Can't imagine much if you include the portion of space and electricity used from your shop. Maybe, but I can't see how. I love the idea, but how is it feasile?
Yes we do really well with the shave ice side. Because of our lower shave ice prices we bring more traffic into our shop. The shave ice also has excellent margins and where my only expenses are labor, cups and syrups we do well. The shave ice area only takes up about 70 square feet of the 2000 square feet. During slow times we only need 1 person to run both the store and the shave ice side. During summer we have 1 person on each side.
@@prettypumpkin6891 No, I would need probably 4 stands to make a good living. It is good extra money. I'm not involved as much as i used to be so i make a little less but it is pretty automated now.
The sugar thickens it up to the right consistency. Our ice is really fluffy so we actually have more trouble getting the syrup to go all the way to the bottom. We poke holes in the ice so the syrup can make it all the way to the bottom.
