Used both recipes today for the first time. The cookie recipe is so tasty, and I love that the cookies do not spread much. The icing is nice, too. I am horrible at piping it. Good thing the taste far outweighs the looks. I used almond extract in both the cookie and icing. Love it!

It was my first time making cookies using a cookie cutter. It was a bit hard at first but once I got the hang of it they were pretty easy to make. As always the taste is amazing! You never disappoint!! Thank you!

Hi. Thanks for the recipes. I used 5 Tbsp of half-n-half, only 1 Tbsp of corn syrup, and 1 tsp of vanilla for the frosting. This seemed to make the frosting a little stiffer and less “lax” for decorating with a piping bag. Love the cookie recipe as is!

I recently made these cookies and they are delicious! I cut them thick and they remained moist for several days, even after air drying with the icing👍🏽
I discovered your blog and your channel a couple weeks ago, and I’m so glad I did! I made these cookies and your rolls for both of my Thanksgiving dinners, and they were both big hits! For the cookies I used 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract, and it gave it such a nice flavor! This is definitely my go to sugar cookie and frosting recipe now. I’ve tried the recipe this afternoon & it turned out rlly good because i’ve tried other recipe but it was tasteless 🥲🥲 this biscuit smells so good & my mom rlly liked it !! I am gonna make this for new year heheeheh !! Anyway, i baked it at 180 degree celsius for 15 minutes cause 10 minutes was too soft for the biscuit hehe
I did these with olive oil during the holidays and they made amazing olive oil sugar cookies. Kept their shape and all that the same, but had a great olive oil taste. Going to do these regular for my sons class for valentines day.

Update everyone loved them but for me I feel like I used too much flour only because I accidentally added too much vanilla to the butter mixture & it made it a bit watery. So I just went ahead and added a bit more flour. This morning when I was rolling out the dough it was really sticky it was sticking to the table and the cookies weren’t lifting right. So I added more flour lol & that’s where I messed up with the butter mixture and having to add more flour. Everyone said they were really good but I tasted flour I’m literally my biggest critic when it comes to me baking. Omg but the icing is perfect the taste is so good. I know I’ll get it right next time practice makes perfect.
These are really good texture and taste. I made my cookies 1/4 inch thick and they needed more like 13-15 min to cook. But these are great! I will use this recipe my go to sugar cookies recipe.

Just made these OMG. I have always struggled making these types of cookies....I followed the recipe to s " T' and they are so good. I feel so proud serving these at Christmas.My only question is after you ice them how to store as they dry as to not smudge the.but retain cookie freshness
You’ll want to let to dry out in the open, this can take several hours. Then after the icing has set you can move them to an air tight container at room temperature. 😊

Just a question: when making the frosting for the sugar cookies, if I want to add just sprinkles, what do you use to keep the sprinkles from falling off the cookie? I SO appreciate your recipes. I’ve made the oatmeal cookie recipe several times, adding golden raisins. SO delicious! Hi Shari! I put the sprinkles on pretty much right away before the icing can start to set. You will still lose a few but a lot of them should stick. :)

Yes I will typically leave them out overnight to dry. You will then want to transfer them to an air tight container in the morning. The cookies won’t dry out. 😊
Hi! I really enjoyed making your recipe and I much prefer your icing than royal icing as well. I had a question about storing the icing though, If I made it and had left overs would I be able to store it or would I just need to toss it if it’s not used the same day I made it? Thanks again!
You can store it for a few days if you put it in a baggie, I use a piping bag, and make sure that seals well. It really dries out pretty quickly when exposed to air. ☺️
I allow my dough to chill then I simply roll it out without flour, I get them in long strips and roll them in sugar then cut cookies out of them and cook
Is it okay to add water to the dough, if its too dry? I've just made the dough, its now in the fridge but the mixture was very dry so I added 2 tablespoons of water to the mix in order to actually combine everything.
I would typically recommend adding milk or some softened butter. Typically if it is too stiff they aren’t going to turn out the best that they can. I hope you still enjoy them. 😊
Happy New Year Sam! Have you ever made a soft and chewy vanilla sugar cookie that did not spread after baking? I can't seem to find my printed recipe and I am almost certain it was from your channel. The dough was formed in a ball and rolled in sugar. Can't recall if the balls were chilled. It looked identical to a peanut butter cookie with the fork impression. I remember the dough balls were placed on a silicone baking mat. Does this sound familiar? Hope you can help.
