No it is not constant....the alteration can be made from your waist line to your knee length.

If you are making a gown with this style, it will have a half cut, so cut your upper bodice and add a zipper allowance. Then join it to the skirt part.

But do you think it will pass through conveniently considering the fact that the zipper will only end @maybe half length of about 16/17/inches and I won't be able to wear it from down either top/bottom because of the waist measurement around the upper part

The zipper will not end at the half cut, remember a zipper was attached to this skirt.

Work with your knee measurement....the spiral will get to your ankle

It will work for all adult skirt length, if you need to make any adjustment for a taller person or a shorter person, it will have to be around the waist to the knee

Follow this same pattern....the major place you should adjust is waist to knee line. Measure your client and use hers to draft your pattern

For a small girl...you will need to measure her waist to her knee then for that spiral, measure from the knee to her ankle.

This is just the basic pattern....if you want to alter the length then you will have to measure your waist to your knee. Whatever you get, you will work with it.

It will work for you
