Hi nikhil..i appreciate your suggestions. Here is what I think...just my opinion.. The floating bottom design(bottom side in between the side pannels) is actually prone to failure for many reasons. In case of ADA or other brands they have their own well constructed cabinets so they assured reducing the risk with considering their marketing amd sales part as well. The most obvious is the weight of the water in the tank is being held by the silicone on the bottom pane of glass. A not so obvious reason for failure is the fact that, in addition to the water weight, shaping material or substrate or anything inside, any upward force would have an equal stress factor....like when people put some kind of form or thermocol under the tanks. Placing the sides of the tank on top of the bottom piece actually gives you more surface area to apply silicone. Placing the end glass inside the front and rear panels is a matter of opinion and I am of the opinion that strength isn't the reason, moreover, it is the fact that glass is purchased in standard lengths and should be precisely cut on the edges. It is also my opinion that the exposed edges of glass is better viewed from the side than the front. Everything that is done to commercial built tanks is done for two reasons mainly: -Build cost -Liability Liability is a risk factor that determines how the manufacturer builds the tank and they go by industry standard and experienced past failures. At the end I would say both method are safe but it depends which one to go for..when..where there r dependencies always.
I don't think so we need to stretch this topic.. Both method are fine on there own place.. I check NYOS Aquarius and he also but out bottom glass and he is also not using tape maybe it's my mistake.. Maybe it's about making habit & personal choice of placing glasses on bottom or around bottom.. I am just trying to maintain international level of quality maybe in near future we will achieve.. All suggestions are valuable . Most the people just watch video and very few share there opinion it's valuable.
