I can't believe that your channel has only 2K subscribers, instead of 200K. One of the best quality contents on youtube. And for me, not so much the technical details, but the inspiration you guys are giving about how a family should function. God bless you.

Breanne do you always have so much fun making bread. It looked awesome and thanks to your young assistants. As impressive as the the bread is the stove you have, it looks about 6 feet wide. I also so the wood stove. Does the family use that sometimes. God bless you all. Are you in the middle of this arctic blast that is headed down here in the States this weekend.

Yummy!!! Why do you sift out the bran, Breanne? we don't usually do that but our bread sure doesn't look like this bread! Thanks for sharing, Love the bloopers and your website is just amazing!

She sifts the the majority of the bran out because it make a lighter loaf, although it's completely optional, and actually more traditional to use the entire wheat. So glad you enjoyed the video and the bloopers! Blessings :)

So many life lesson quotes in this video 😂 and so cool to see your dad step into the kitchen! I love sourdough, today I made pizza dough (still working on my recipe, do you have one?:) and sourdough buns for our Sunday night cheeseburgers. I am wondering if you could share where you buy your wheat berries? Currently I am just using a red wheat (I think?) from the local health food store in town. I had to stop and start your video today, but it was so fun to watch. Thank you for sharing!! ❤️

That's great Ashley! We've got some of our wheat from Organic Matters from Nelson BC and it's great, only shipping is quite a lot. More recently Dad has bought it from Lyle Toews with Peace Country Milling. You can email us if you'd like his phone number.

Amazing:) I actually order regularly from OM foods, yes shipping can be pricey but their products are the best price I’ve been able to find inregard to teas and herbs and such. I will check them out for wheat berries! Also amazing;) I checked my bag in my pantry and it is from peace country milling, awesome:) thank you!

I wonder if you have ever used whey from your cheese making as the liquid when you make sourdough? I’ve tried drinking it but it was a bad idea and can’t think of other uses for it.

Yes we have! We've used it for both bread and in our pancakes. However, it's currently easiest if we just give it to the goats - they love it!

This was great! What do you do with your starter during unleavened bread? That is the main reason why I haven't started sourdough yet- do you make a new one (that's what I'm leaning towards because I really want to begin)

I love all your videos. Began with your cheese making ones, and today am trying “your” sourdough recipe. I have two questions? When leaving the flour and water to audolyse, should it be covered to prevent drying out somewhat or is it ok to leave uncovered. My second question is, how advisable is it to speed up the starter by warming up it’s environment. My thought was putting it in the oven with just the oven light turned on.

Yes to both! Covering the dough is best, and putting starter in oven with light on will speed it up and as far as I know that's okay. Sometimes I'll place our starter near the aga where it's warm, or just on the counter at room temp...just be careful not to overheat/go too quickly, but I doubt the oven light would be too much! Happy bread baking :)
