I fixed some errors like for example the back button so I changed its x and y-axis so that it will stay at the right top of the screen. I fixed the credits button and some things. Love your videos man. 5 stars for you!

One more random question. When we defined the “build num Start start” block what was the intended purpose of it and how does it help with the start screen?

It is just a method I came up with It basically makes clones of the sprite and allows us to have a different script for every clone! So you can make 3 buttons do 3 different things, and those 3 buttons will be clones, not sprites! That means you don't need to make 3 sprites for 3 buttons, you can just use this method to do all of it in 1 sprite!

As the play button broadcasts "start" Replace the starting block of the scripts of your game - from "when green flag clicked" to "when i recieve start"

Your buttons are either too close, or you've set them to be so big that they touch each other when mouse touches them

See your game has sprites which run when the green flag is clicked so what you have to do is, replace the "when green flag clicked" block in all of those sprites, with "when I recieve 'start' " block. DO NOT REPLACE THIS IN THE START MENU SPRITE And it'll work, as we've set the Play Button to broadcast "start" when it's clicked, and so it'll start the game!

@@_greeek Actually, I checked my code again and compared it with McVincient's. After that I found that I have set the variable controlMenuOpen to 1, so then I changed it to 0. After that it was working fine...hope it helps 😀

Tell him/her that MY BLOCKS are custom blocks we can create to make our work easier and scripts shorter. Also we use them to make our scripts FASTER by turning on 'Run without screen refresh'. If your game scripts start with "When Flag Clicked", replace "When Flag Clicked" block with "When I receive Start" in all of your scripts, and it'll work!

Actually, there is a more simplier way! get you're controls and make them in different sprites, then do when sprite clicked brodcaust start! Or other other names whatever. And go to the start menu sprite and do when I receive start switch costume (or hide and make the BACKDROP switch when it receives start whatever one you pick. And do that with the others to! But it may have to be more complicated if you want to animate the intro though.

Clone ID is a much more efficient way to have your project organized, and yes, what you said does work and is much easier, but it prevents you from improving your work and causes spaghetti code.

Instead of using "when the green flag clicked" in the zombie sprite, use "when I receive start" This way, the scripts will start running only after you click on Play.

That's actually because you've put the operator blocks incorrectly. That happens with me too, just change the order by watching that part again carefully.

Instead of using the 'if clonenum=1' scripts, make different sprites and put the same script in them.

Just replace all the blocks in your game which say ‘when green flag clicked’ to ‘when I receive start’

I know this is 3 years later but ive followed this video thoroughly and looked through your code and compared it with mine and it still doesnt work. Whenever I press the green flag everything hides and the buttons also dont work. Not a clue why.

It doesnt let me use the hide block for backdrops

Hide blocks for stage backdrops or sprite backdrops? If stage backdrops, it won't work. If sprite backdrops, I didn't tell anywhere to put 'hide' in that, I said to put 'delete this clone'.
