Steamed vegetables. I am so surprised about the result. Beautiful. I think the process of pouring in hot water is what actually makes it turn black. Am I right?
Love this vegetable. I do this but didn’t know why thought I was just cleaning it before storing it now I know the reason for blanching. I used to see people do this in the past and I took it onboard too. Now that I know the effect I will continue to blanch my vegetable Steamed vegetables
It's lovely. I do exactly this for blanched veggie sides for white rice and stew. But I wash it thoroughly because of sand before adding the hot water for blanching. Thanks for your usual educative cooking videos.
At the 3.49 mark, while putting the vegetables in the pot, she said "..before chopping the vegatbles, make sure you wash the leaf propertly". Some people wash their vegetables before cutting, because washing after cutting them, the vegetables lose some vitamins, reason the water turns green, that's some of the nutrients being lost!
All imp nutrients are lost with this method, don't cut your green vegetables for blanching keep them whole, always better just steam cook them or even stir fry it . 🤔
In cooking vegetables preservation of nutrients is very important. Don't cut vegetables before blanching and remove from heat while you blanch , you can even pour hot water over the vegetables in a plastic bowl adding salt
It’s good idea but after boiling it you squeeze the vegetables and frown all the water that’s mean all the vitamins are not in the vegetables anymore what you’re eating now it’s only leaves without vitamins 😊
As much as I agree with you, how ever, you need to actually throw away that because of the various fertilizer options farmers use in growing their crops these days. A lot of things are no longer the same with foods anymore. Would you rather have such ugly fertilizer or whatever must have been used to plant it in your food? It is more advisable to eat vegetables whole if you grow your own vegetables (food in general).
I do steam or blanch all my vegetables before cooking process. Also this is all about our health. If you marry to SW family you must steam or blanch your vegitables before cooking. Am not talking about nowadays women that everything is sharp sharp
