This is my first time to make a crossbow. There are many points to be improved such as large, heavy and weak , but please enjoy the sound of nature and work and watch it as entertainment. Thank you for watching.
That's weak, the bamboo skin must be inside, get the tough part or skin part of the bamboo and make it thin,3 pcs. , and must dry the bamboo before you use it..
I am trying to craft my own weapons. With ammo being scarce here in America and being unable to afford a gun, a makeshift bow/crossbow will be a pretty close second! I'll be watching this video several times as I craft it myself (I just cut down and dried some bamboo today), so thank you very much for a fantastic tutorial!
I have to say I was absolutely in awe. Big deal he had a saw and a knife. I almost couldnt get past the bamboo bench he was sitting on. his craftsmanship is incredible! His aim is amazing. Id like to see any of you get sent out into the wildnerness with a saw a chisel and a knife and survive. Good fucking luck to ya mates. Stop bashing people for a minute and just stop and actually watch what hes doing. Shame on yall. Dude you f/n rock!
I just decided to search for "bamboo weapons" and this was the first video that called my attention, i have to say that i'm not dissapointed, the fact that this man just goes directly to the point with no commentary or sponsors its great and satisfactory
the blue color of the forest brings me good childhood memories actually, after playing outside the whole day and sun is setting and you hear your mom calling you
This might just be me, but Bamboo really feels like the sort of stuff that can jumpstart early technology. I mean they’re tubes man. You can do a lot of stuff with tubes.
I swear by it and still use it to make bongs and wizard pipes with due to it's amazing durability and longevity also parts can just as easily be made or temporarily exchanged as needed for "other" types of paraphernalia (i.e swapping out the cone piece for a glass bowl or maybe using it for to burn hash or opium, the possibilities are endless) not to mention the use of just all round general utility like cups, bowls, fishing spears, beds, hammocks, ladders, scaffolding, smokers, BBQ's, grills, boats, bridges and a thousand other things that I'm way to high to think about. And that's why I love the stuff 👍
I appreciate the effort put into this video. This is a crafting channel, not a survival channel - for those who are criticizing his using lots of tools. Enjoy the video.
@Saudi King Volintine Ander of Arabia what's up? You know in America we can't use words like king even if you are direct descendants of King Hartacut H. I. And queen Elgiva of Denmark. Isn't that crazy?
For a crossbow made using bamboo and some yarn, yeah. It's fairly strong. However, a real crossbow, such as one made in the middle ages, would dig the bolt into that dirt so deep, you would have to dig it out.
Man, I just liked the simplicity of this. I've been searching and watched many tutorials before and all I've seen were many content creators just flexing their fancy tools. Sure the others crafted amazing handmade weaponry, But this is the only tutorial that really caught my attention because I have limited tools for crafting.
It definitely could kill all sorts of smaller critters and seems quite accurate too. It's gonna be interesting to see if you can put in a stronger bow in the future, that bamboo stock seems quite sturdy. Anyways, even like that it's great for TRAPS.
"In today's episode of wild survival, Ima teach you a way to make a weapon to survive, but first you're gonna need all you're modern construction tools that you conveniently have with you."
The bow I made earlier seems to be stronger. However, I think this is fine for toys. If you are hunting, you have to be strong. It is necessary to stack two or more bamboo parts to stretch the strings to increase the repulsive force. This would not allow it to penetrate the beast's leather, crack the flesh, and cause fatal injuries.
@@mosio.2504 I didn't say children's toys. I don't know what a communist looks like. However, educate proper parents that even toys should not be aimed at people.
So many negative comments,...c'mon people, this was really cool in my opinion. How many here could do the same with what this man had to work with. And, if you were hungry, the weapon would definitely catch a rabbit or other small game.
That's pretty cool! If you took off about an inch or two from each side of the bow, it should increase the power by a bit. Though I don't know if you would be able to pull the string all the way to the same notch without threatening the integrity.
I dig your tabi boots brother. I love wearing them in the woods or on broken ground in general. Being that I live in the ozarks the ground is treacherous at the best of times, they allow me grip with my toes and help feel the forest floor.
Very nicely done ! 8-) I'm reminded of many of the traditional southeast Asian crossbows, some built entirely from bamboo, others from a combination of bamboo and wood. It's often said they might be the most ancient crossbow designs in the world. Did they serve as inspiration for your all-bamboo crossbow ?
Layer more bamboo around the limbs, will be harder to draw, but will increase the power and velocity. You could even make several of these and link them to a tripwire if you needed perimeter defense. Great video!
Talent like this is a gift from God. If you were out in the woods starving that thing could easily kill small game and maybe even bigger game if you could speed it up and make your arrows cut a bigger hole
Ism Craft I might have some adjustments to your crossbow 1) Make the string tighter so that it would shoot faster 2) Make the arrow shorter(BOLT) cause I think it would travel faster 3) If you want a better result use some feathers on the bolt so it could reduce the fall of edit: 4) Use a stronger bamboo for the limb of the crossbow(wait I forgot I don't recall they are a strong bamboo but if there a strong one use it) 5) Maybe reduce the size of the crossbow that looks like a heavy crossbow
Ism Craft since bamboo is thin and plenty, you could always add layers instead of stronger material. This will create a higher resistance which in turn creates increased power and velocity but the draw requirement will be harder.
Need a stronger string and and crossbow resistance to produce strong kinetic energy for the bolt to travel faster and better against friction from crossbow itself. Just my humble opinion.
@@jjsuisLBigTroudBAL15000 When I was 16, I went to camping in the jungle for 10 days. I created my own bow using bamboo and string from plant fibre to hunt wild chicken. I know what I am talking about.
@@ungayumungus8785 I understand. When you're 16, you were still asking your parents to buy things. It's sure hard to believe that someone else have better skill sets than you. Cheers 😊
May I suggest. Since it is very large and heavy, you could reduce the bottom part of the body, just behind the bow, and just leave the back part to make stock.
The comments: “oH I jUst hAPpen tO GEt LoSt wITh mY WHolE WorKSHop”.Guys he’s using modern tools because it’s easier and faster but you can do this with a good survival knife.
In my country those type of bamboo are as expensip as the lumber. They are not for playing. Only the rich use that bamboo for their beach bungalows, or resort bungalows.
