In this video i make a synth wave/80s track in FL Studio using only FREE Plugins... You can grab all the plugins used in the video from the link below FREE PLUGINS PACKwww.dropbox.co...
So sorry for the late comment. WELL DONE! As I said on the DWTD tutorial, you are both a scholar and a gentlemen. To my friends and my synthwave partner I refer to you as my "MENTOR", and I mean that in every sense of the word. You have single handedly taught me how to make music. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. This is just what I needed, and with this video you "killed 2 birds with 1 stone", as you not only showed us how to make amazing synthwave with all free stuff, but you also made a "Timecop1983" sounding track to teach us, and with that POLYSIX setting you used....well that is VERY Timecop1983 sounding indeed. And I requested a " How to Sound Like Timecop1983" video, so 2 requests I made, both crossed off the list! PLEASE keep it up. I eagerly await your next DWTD video...they have a lot of styles as you know all too well. You are the man!
Heres a cool trick. For a more dramatic sax part, turn UP the velocity and down the volume, and drench is in some sexy reverb. Takes you back to the bleeding gums murphy episode of simpsons :)
This is beautiful...Thank you so much ! I'm going to learn all night long ! This is really what i wanted to learn and what i was searching. Your channel is a gold mine for new producers in the synthwave community
I don't think you need to make videos about Reaper.. I'm using Ableton and your tutorials still help me very much, because DAWs are all the same, when it comes to creating music... The basics might be a little different, but there are thousands of tutorials out there for that..
Love your Tutorials Man! Next can you do a tutorial on how you make your complex arps and melodies? I know you did a synthwave sessions on it, but that was just the beginning of the basics, Thanks!
Hey man, love the video. Where did you get the Waldorf PG8X preset from? I've done a tonne of hunting and can't find it. I can't copy what's on your screen either as the Envelope stuff isn't visible.
First and foremost dopest and easiest way to do synthwave. Also I was wondering would you everything of doing a listening session with your subs and hear their projects?
Hi Ste, i'm coming to this very late in the day eh - just looking at this for a new hobby at very little cost. I was there first time around when all this came out - yeah, i am THAT old lol. Thanks for the video, certainly got me interested.
vst4free .. is all I can add to this :) Also. DSK sax is kinda crappy but depending on what notes you're playing it sound pretty damn good with some reverb.
what do you do to the arrangement to make the song longer like 3-5 minutes? do you copy everything from bar 17-109 for example? (assuming this song is only about 2 minutes)
What is your opinion of the Bionic Supa Delay? I'm using it on several of my tracks for a synthwave style song I'm making for the kvr one synth contest (as I mentioned on another video) for delay and EQ and in my opinion it is decent for those things but I have been having a couple of glitchy issues with it in reaper, like massive CPU spikes when I go to render sometimes, or the filter pre delay causing a horrendous feedback loop which causes the track to go into super ear rape mode lol
hey Ste you ever tried Aly James Vprom 2 (linn drum emulation and VSDSX. You can also insert EProms the Vprom. He has a buncha 80s synths you should check his stuff out if you havent yet
Awesome Ste. As a beginner producer who's VSTs and plugins are 97% freeware, this is very useful. Which artist will be the subject of your "How To Sound Like #4" tutorial?
9 thousand kilo hertz that would make 9 000 000 hz ahah (7:36). Probably not audible, made me laugh. Sry the engineer in me is too strong. Great video still. Thanks
i'm hardware based myself, my goal is to never spend more than 400 on any gear and buying one new item a year, right now i'm usinng an mv-8000 and sh-201
I tried using vsts through Vestige in lmms but even some of the simpler ones didn't work properly--crashes and losing settings. I decided to switch to reaper for that reason.
Thanks for this very helpful tutorial. With all the synths, presets and effects available, it is not easy to find sounds that will sound good together. This template has been a good starting point for my first synthwave track (both for the instruments and the song arrengement). I used this template to make a first synthwave song (check it at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I-g3v-BV2kE.html). Next step will be to make something more personal...
So the only video i could find that was about doing it for free was this 5 year old one. And you're using FL studio? That's click bait. There are like a billion videos showing how to use FL studio and I'm talking about the ones that show you how to "synthwave".
