Happy New day my beautiful family enjoy a fast easy and super delicious recipe 😊❤ because everything tastes sooooo much better at home 😅 and best part is perfect every single time!
When I was a kid I remember when they added it to the menu It had a golden corn tortilla Real onions with the meat and beans Black olives as a garnish in a aluminum egg shape pan with a plastic lid Later they added the green onions
@@noahname6695 Wrong, it was a corn/flour hybris tortilla. That's why it was so much better than what they are serving now. It's also why they discontinued it. They had to manufacture and stock a special tortilla for only one menu item. Seriously, you don't know what you're talking about.
Actually they said it was food color on white flour tortilla. You may be right. Honestly I don’t know. But I think I’m right. Was in the mid 70s when I worked there. Bellbeefers. Beefy tostadas. Even fried the original taco salad bowls using a mitt and a big metal pitcher to hold it in the oil.
@@noahname6695 I looked it up. Also, the enchirito was my favorite menu item and it was the corn tortilla that made it great. When they came out with it again I was excited. The excitement didn't last because when I got it, it was a flour tortilla and did not have the same taste. It was corn/flour hybrid tortilla.
Well whatever it was it was a lot better then. Lol. I’d sure like to know how the tortilla was made. It stood up raw in a steam table. Of course back then they used actual lard in the beans and the tortillas too. Good honest food back in the day.
@@JohnSmith-gq9gn So, it was a corn AND flour tortilla? The tortilla WAS unique, and didn't seem like completely one ingredient or another, a combo, like you say.
@@carlgerde And that's one of the reasons that they discontinued the enchirito. They had to produce a special tortilla for only one product. Unlike the flour tortilla which is used in many items.
I worked at Taco Bell during high school when enchiritos were still on the menu and when all of the menu items were spelled out phonetically (tah-co, buh-ree-to) for the benefit of the Yanquis. Enchiritos and "bell beefers" were the best items that the chain had to offer.
i grew up far away from the mexican half of my family, ive been making some of your recipes and my friend says the way i cook reminds her a lot of her moms cooking and shes from guanajuato. thank you so much for providing such great recipes and making them easy to follow
Awe I love this! Many people say my cooking reminds them of their grandma and to me that can be the best compliment I can ever get 😊 we all know grandmas cooking is the best and I hope I’m making mine very proud❤
A million Thanks Claudia for this recipe , enchirito's were my favorite dish from taco bell and I will definitely be putting this recipe to good use , I love your channel and all your recipes !
Yup you'd think in this crazy burger world, Taco Bell would bring that item back. It was a good seller in the 70's & 80's. I miss the enchrito and the bellbeefers!!!!!!!!!! 👍
Wow those look so yummy and delicious, when I went to get them from taco bell I had them put lettuce and tomato s,with sour cream and extra black olives so yummy delicious
I found a recipe one time for the red sauce for Taco Bell, lost it and was never able to replicate it again. There’s a dozen online but it doesn’t taste like it. I’m pretty sure you nailed it! The ingredients seem just like I remembered. 7:29 I can’t wait to try this this weekend. Thank you thank you! 😊
I have always loved enchiritos. There was a Taco Bell around the corner from my first apartment. I probably ate my weight in enchiritos every month. Anyway, I made this recipe last night. I loved it. Claudia you nailed this recipe! Thank You 😊
The encherito was always my favorite taco bell item, i was very sad when they took it off the menu Thx for this great copycat (though it looks MUCH better) recipe!! Can't wait to try it!
That's a great twist on the item. I worked at Taco Bell and actually it was a corn tortilla it did not have beans it had meat red sauce in the middle a little bit of onions a little bit of cheese and then it was drizzled with red sauce again and drizzled with cheese.
Thank you so much. I use to get these every time I went to the bell. Now I don't even go there anymore. I just got done making this and it was so good. Thanks again
Man…the Taco Bell Enchirito, got me through High School. Maybe send this recipe to Taco Bell? They have the limited time Enchirito now, and it is not the same as the original.
You do not understand how happy I am for this recipe, this was my absolute favorite item at taco Bell and I was pissed when they discontinued it,thanks so much and I love your channel
My dad thaught me to make Enchiladas 50 yrs ago, we still make them , just had some last night. 2 cans Hormel Chili with Beans ( always used Gibhearts Chilli w/ beans but I cant find any Gibhearts) 1/2 chopped sweet onion medium Shredded cheese ( your choice, I use mild chedder) Toco Bell toco sauce White corn tortillas Heat chili in n sauce pan ,heat to boil mix well In small fry pan pour 4 or 5 tables spoons vegetable oil Place tortilla in midium hot oil , flip over then place on cookie sheet. Put large spoon of chilli in middle of tortilla and fold both sides over to middle to cover chilli. Continuess process until you have the number you want. Next spread any left over chilli over top ( if you have any left). Continuess process until you have the number you want. Next spread Shredded cheese generously over top of Enchiladas, put on the onions. Now drizzle toco sauce over Enchiladas and theyre ready for the oven. Preheat oven to 350* , then baked about 8-10 min. You want the cheese melted and onions to start to become a little translucent. If you have any left over freeze for another day. Few weeks later lunch all ready. Just put in microwave 2-3 minutes.
Enchiritos were my favorite Taco Bell menu item, I was so pissed when they quit selling them that I boycotted Taco Bell for awhile. I'm definitely going to try this recipe as these look delicious
Taco Bell in Goodyear IS selling them! Read my reply to another person who thought they weren't being sold. Don't look for them on the menu board. Ask the employee if they are selling them. UPDATE: Taco Bell in Goodyear AZ stopped selling the Enchirito AGAIN. A week and a half after I was able to buy them. Ridiculous
Same! And when they discontinued the Mexican Pizza. I didn't go there for almost three years, lol! Taco Bell getting rid of either of those items would be like if McDonald's quit selling the Big Mac, you just don't mess with the menu items that made you popular.
Tried this recipe and it was great. I added a little more heat as only adjustment. Thanks!! BTW, that green dress added plenty of heat, too. Delicious.
Can't wait to try this recipe! By the way, I worked at Taco Bell for 20+ years, there aren't any microwaves in the restaurants. They use steam ovens to melt the cheese.
Looks delicious. Yeah they discontinued those at taco bell then brought them back and they take it away again. They said it takes too long to make. They are my favorite though. Thanks for this.
