@@KirstenJoerg you are good and beautiful people and thank you, we're fine ☺️ Our family in Limburg got lucky and narrowly escaped worse. It is indeed heartbreaking to see all those people in Germany and Belgium suffering. Fortunately, we can help through the various collection campaigns.
Would love to go on a picnic with all sandwiches and rolls!!! Kirsten, your dress is adorable and great style! Joerg, your love for sausage rolls makes us smile!!!
“What is going on here?” Busted, Joerg! So adorably funny….had to watch over again and again. You are precious together. Thank you for sharing recipes with us from your beautiful kitchen.
Love this! I'm American and have had the good fortune to have some English folks set up a tea room in my neighborhood. They make sausage rolls fresh everyday. Yum!!
You to are adorable….. I thought of you two when I saw the flooding in Germany prayers to all those people who are affected by this unimaginable tragedy. Enjoyed spending time with y’all in the kitchen!
I would cut the bread first, and then you can use the trimmings to make a bread pudding. If you don't have enough from the sandwiches, you can freeze the crusts until you do. Frugal and tasty!
I have tried it both ways. In my experience, it really is a lot better and easier to cut the bread After the sandwich is made, just as they did. Great job.
@@martinhitch9116 Exactly, we all do things differently. I didn't think your suggestion was a criticism. I was just sharing that I have done it both ways, & what I found to be the best way, in my experience, which happened to be the way they were doing it. That's all. Maybe others find your suggestion to be the best way for them. When I use cookie cutters to cut the bread with, I do it your way, and cut the bread first with the cookie cutter. When I'm just cutting the crusts off, I do it after the sandwich is made. I find it harder to spread the fillings, when the crust is off the bread, without having the sides getting smooched.
@Martin Hitch I like your suggestion because if you wait until the sandwiches are made, the edges are sullied.... Unless you want a treat for the chef :) I'm one of those who "butter " their bread right up to the edges.
@@earthlightstudio thank you. My Ma had to be careful with her housekeeping. There was hardly any wasted food. So, hence the bread pudding with any trimmed or stale bread.
As a youth, I played Lady Bracknell in a school production of The Importance of Being Earnest. None of us in the cast or crew had any idea what a cucumber sandwich was or why anyone would want to put cucumbers on a sandwich. I think we just cut bread and butter into fourths for the production. But for sure, every mention of cucumber sandwiches brings to mind the great Oscar Wilde.
Thank you, I'll be preparing these lovely sandwiches for my 91 year old mother-in-law, who looks & feels 71. Again thx for the recipes. Have a great Summer. cgzone8
That was fun !! I can see you and Joerg sitting in the little snug on the floor with the blanket laid out , the food and lemonade ready. And you sitting there with your parasol. !! Awww how precious !! You are so good with your tea parties !!! Love to you both ...
Oh this is just so special and so fitting for the beautiful summer picnic weather we are currently having ! Thank you Kirsten and Joerg, I love your recipe videos. I hope you both have a lovely weekend 🥰
I remember as a kid in the 1960's the ladies aid group at my church would organize social teas and would make dainty sandwiches (crusts off) with pink and green bread. Anyway I enjoy your videos keep them coming please.
Excellent presentation video! I also like that you added what you bring on your picnic outings. Joerg is so funny in this one. Also an update that my gluten-free diet is going exceptionally well. It really helps cut down my migraine headaches for some reason. I owe a bit of thanks for inspiring me to do it.
A yummy profile of your picnic favorites! Will try the sausage rolls! I grew up in KY in the US, and we have Benedictine tea sandwiches made with cucumber, cream cheese, scallions, and dill- so good! Glad to see your family back home is safe! 🌸❤️
It all looks very tasty and easy to prepare. I am happy to see that your families are not in the floods, just a horrible thing to happen to those people, frightening to watch. Prayers for all of them that it will be over soon.
Hello. So relieved to hear you family is safe. My thoughts are with everyone in Europe. I lived 3 years of my childhood in Germany in the Eifel and one of my sisters was born there. On Sundays a village grandmother would give us delicious treats. Cheesecake, strawberry ot apple kuchen, and a few times gooseberry which I really loved. I showed my little village friend's grandmother how to make American apple pie. I so enjoy you both ! Especially your baking and country strolls. Cheers.
Thank you so much for these recipes! I cannot wait to shop for the ingredients and prepare all. My mouth was watering as I watched and took notes. I just printed out your recipes now. Blessings to all in Germany.
Ready to pull out the picnic basket. Fresh is best. Loved the tin and wrapping paper. Glad to see you in the kitchen again. Fun to see such appreciation for the food. 👨🏻🍳
Ok so I started watching last evening late, fell asleep, so finished the video early this morning. That doesn’t make it uninteresting, it means I was too tired and should have waited to watch in the morning. Haha. Great video as always and lots of prayers for the people of Germany who are suffering unimaginable misery with the flooding. Blessings, Mary
Thank you both for the cooking ideas. Picnics always make me feel like a child....yours are like lovely tea parties. Makes me feel special to listen to your preparations. Thanks.
Who doesn't luv sausage rolls? I would have used all the chicken and the cucumber sandwiches would have been loaded with that tasty spread. I just luv picnics and it's the perfect season for iit - everything is in bloom. Thanks for sharing...

What a delightful video 💕 I love tea sandwiches and sausage rolls. I have never had Coronation Chicken, so I am anxious to try your recipe. Nor have I ever thought of using china plates on a picnic. Thank you so much for sharing. 🌸🌞🌼
Lovely. The idea of afternoon Tea is so appealing to me. Reminiscent of a slower, more genteel time. I plan to host a Christmas Tea and will use these recipes.
This is so great. I can’t wait to try these beautiful recipes! I like that your wrappings are environmentally friendly, I noticed that in your picnic video. You’ve inspired me to do the same. Thank you
You add a special ingredient in all that you do. It's called 'love', and I could see you both adding it to the food that was being prepared. The British Tourist Bureau should use the two of you to promote the whole region. Nobody has done it better. Britain has never been on my travel list, but now, I badly want to go. Thanks for all the love you spread. ❤😊
Ymmm.....It all looks yummy! My mother always diced her cucumbers and mixed it with the cream cheese, but I've never seen anyone else do it that way. I'm going to try the mint.
Вы потрясающе артистичны!ваши рецепты просто изумительные все записала и буду пробовать. Яблочный пирог мой любимый и для осени очень традиционный. Берегите себя будьте счастливы!!

Another recipe for cucumber sandwiches you can make is....mix real butter with finely grated lemon zest and finely chopped dill use this to butter both slices of bread per sandwich and top with your cucumber,it's delicious. Kirsten I saw those bee wax wraps during the week in a local super market and put them back I'm going to go back now get them .Thank you so much I've said this before ,for your wonderful vlogs.❤
