For anyone like me who was wondering if you can use coconut oil instead of distillate the answer is yes. I can't speak for what distillate tastes like but for me the cannabis taste was quite pronounced with the coconut oil. However in saying that I did not use any form of measurement when adding the oil. I have no idea the strength of my oil, edibles or anything. I used 3 squirts of those small pippets full of oil into the gummy mix. I ended up eating all the spillage, or the residue from the bowls, spoons etc and I'm quite medicated right now.
Thank you so much for trying this out! This will help a lot of people who are wondering and I personally have never tried it. Hope your enjoying them =)
@@user-pv2by7nv1x It would probably work. The second batch I made using the exact same method as described in the video I doubled the amount of oil I used and they came out fine. I personally noticed a bit of oil that gathered on the bottom of the gummies but they still held form and had the normal gummy bounce. I used 6 squirts of the same pipettes that Crystal uses in the video full of oil in the second batch. The first I used 3.
For anybody who has trouble using the dropper to pour your gummies, a confectioner’s funnel works beautifully! Just use a paper towel to lightly coat the inside with some melted coconut oil before you pour your mixture in it (less of your mixture will stick to it). To clean the funnel after use all you need to do is fill it with hot water, pour that water in the sink by running through the funnel like you did with your mixture. Cleanup is easy peasy! Great recipe, am now a new follower 😊!
the video has only been up since june, soon people will make their way here and finally get it the right way. i am so impressed with this herculean effort (more than a year in the making) and so will everyone else
You are awesome, I’ve been going crazy trying to find a good tutorial that doesn’t involve bogus jello. This video is more informative than the videos you find from the big channels on how to make just regular gummy bears. Great job!
exactly this! i have been looking for anyone that used the gelatin thinges instead of powderd gelatin just made a version (not this tutorial but it was wayyy to solid to be used in a pipet haha) will try this one next with mct oil for 100 gummies need to figure out how to exactly dose this and the mct oil but should be doable!
Instead of using the microwave, & to reduces prodect loss I would recommend using a bowl half way full of warm water & placing the contaner you put the product in & submerge into the bowl of water to allow it to liquefy Less bubbles easier to work with also keep changing the water if you noice your batch hardens
Add sunflower lecithin, if it's not already in your coconut oil. You don't have to use new concentrates, reclaim from your dab rig can be between 30 and 70% thc (vaires, too many factors to list) it has already been decarbed, it's concentrated and mixes and easily. Formulating the dose by determining the strength of your concentrate divided over the total amount of final pieces
agree about adding like a heavy tsp of vegetable lecithin... this will help quite a bit with thc oil emulsification, otherwise this recipe is great! there is just no reason to be adding the alcohol its not going to help with binding just distribution of oil
I've seen a similar recipe using glucose and sheet gelatin, they put the sheet gelatin in the blender to break it up into pieces to bloom it. Not sure if it makes a huge difference but it will definitely increase the surface area and help the gelatin hydrate faster.
I've been searching for a decent gummie recipe and I'm going to try yours first because you said the magic word for me.... Haribo! Can't wait to see how they measure up. 👍
I have a Levo 2 and their gummy mixer machine. I am going to try and convert the recipe. Love the Levo, but their mix packet that makes 75, 3ml gummys is $20-24 each. Also I bought a 4pk of sugar candy flavors to coat the bottoms with. Makes it so they does not stick together and helps cut the MCT oil taste. Love the video and thank you for a great recipe!
The gummies will never be consistent without properly mixing the distillate. Your distillate will seperate rise to the top because oil does not bond to water, if you leave it standing for too long, you need a homogenizer
Hey Crystal, this recipe is honestly great and I'm super glad I came across it. Thanks for posting it! Question for you: am I able to replace the gelatin sheets with powdered unflavoured gelatin? I read that you can use a gram per gram replacement between the two, but that powdered gelatin will give a cloudier result than sheets. My concern is if it will impact the texture of the gummies at all?
ok question, i notice in the video you just did, you had mouled 50 orange bears. did you use up all the mix? so the jug of orange mixed has 0.5ml of thc say. so in order to get roughly 0.10ml in each gummie do you have to use all of the orange mix ? like saying if you finishes filling the 50 moulds on the tray and then you have left over product. will that now mean that each gummie dont have 0.10ml of THC in it?
Thanks for this. I subscribed and checked out your channel in hopes for more content. Hoping to see more content from you! More specifically anything THC related recipes
Great job with your step by step instructions-guess I got to give it a go or ask my lil sister(whos a chef)to-since laws prohibit the shipping of such products from Canada to California 😔 again though great video.
Hey! I loved the tutorial you made a great recipe, how did you measure out how many cups/Grams off each ingredient you needed to fit you're molds? Im assuming those were 1ml-2ml molds x 50 or so i'm trying to do a recipe like this with a different main ingredient and can't figure out how to do the volumetric measurment. Thank you!
Thank you for the video. It is exactly what I am looking for. You may have mentioned this in the video, but I do not see it in your recipe, how much distillate over all would you add to this recipe? I am just making one flavor/color. Thank You!
Hi Crystal, thank you for posting this!! Exactly what I was looking for, everybody else seems to be using Jell-O 🥴 May I ask what the gummy mold size is for each candy (e.g. 1mL, 2.5mL)? I'm planning on making a batch and am trying to figure out which gummy size would be best.
This gummy recipe works extremely well. The only problem I have is getting the hash oil or “distillate” to dissolve constantly. Granted, I have customers that order 50mg bears so it takes quite a bit, but sometimes it dissolves completely, and sometimes it breaks up into small chunks. Tried adding alcohol to the mix but not much success. Next I will try to dissolve the oil in the alcohol to see if that helps. Any suggestions would be appreciated! UPDATE: a trial run of 10mg bears dissolving the oil in the small amount of ever clear 95% then adding it into the mixture after you skim off the bubbles. Dissolving was the first thing I did to allow maximum time for alcohol to evaporate. If anyone is curious about temp of the sugar glucose mixture she speaks of getting nice and homogenized, I found the 200 degrees Fahrenheit. I use squirt bottles to dispense and have a lot of hot water I can set them in if they happen to get too cold. Being in the culinary business for 20+ years this recipe is 10/10. Extremely good job. I use this recipe every time without fail now!!!!
Great video,I wish I lived near you in the states,we cannot do this to help ourselves with arthritis etc, because big pharma won't allow this once again thanks for your video,I live in hope...By the way the UK is one of the largest exporters of cannabis?
I made a batch of these using gelatine powder (some unflavored and a bit of starburst blue gelatin) they came out nice but are sticky. Which ingredient could I adjust more/less of to get a firmer gummy that doesn’t stick to each other?
G’Day I’m getting a like a bitter or a burning after taste sensation. Would this be due to the alcohol ( too much) or am I heating the glucose and sugar too high of a temperature?
Your recipe is for 50 gummy bears for each color, so it the provided list you have in the description, enough ingredients for all colors or just one? Do you happen to know the capacity of each bear mold cavity? Thanks!! GREAT video!!
Yes but if it’s powdered lecithin add it to the water base first. If it’s liquid lecithin add it to the oil first before mixing very good by hand to get the emulsion.
Hi Crystal, I'm trying to make a half batch and have halved all the ingredients but my mixture is nowhere near as clear or as runny. Using platinum gelatin sheets so used 17.6g instead of the 22g. Any ideas?
I'm using flavored and unflavored gelatin. How many unflavored will I need and Will I need to adjust my sugar from this recipe? I can't wait to make this. I'm just waiting on the mold inhibitor to get here. Thanks so much
hey hello, i've been using distillate in my mixture but distillate just won't merge into the mix, it always keep going to the top of the mixture, do you know what i can do?
hi Crystal, great video! thank you. I love your style of teaching. I have a couple of questions... Can green dragon tincture and infused sugar be used instead of distillate and white sugar? what would the measurements be for the tincture if so? and lastly, I'm in the US, what would the conversion be from grams to Cups, tbsp, tsp etc?
Hi, thank you so much! I unfortunately have never heard of a green dragon tincture, I'm sure it can definitely be added to the batch as well as the sugar but I wouldn't be able to give you any sort of accurate dosing. This recipe makes 250 small gummy bears so lets say your tincture was 1000mg of thc you could do 1000 divided by 250 = 4mg each. I formulate my recipes only using a weight measurement system because it's the only real accurate measurement when you're looking to make a specific dosage but you can find gram scales on amazon for super cheap around $20.
Did you use vegetable glycerin to stick the sugar ? And dose Sorbitol stabilise the gummy’s as Iv had problems with my gummy’s losing form and shape in the drying process any tips
I have lorann hi-sweet could i use this inplace of glucose or liquid corn syrup? Also how much would you recommend and should water amount be increased?
Hello, I’m very excited to try this recipe out! I have seen lecithin listed as an ingredient on several other recipes for gummies but I’m a first timer. I was wondering what your thoughts are? I’m not sure if I should add some to your recipe or if you think that would be unnecessary? Thank you for the very well done and informative video!
I've never added it in myself, I generally ad a small amount of grain alcohol as I'm using distillate and the amount of oil I'm adding is very small because the thc percentage is 99% but if you are using a coconut oil infusion it's probably useful as you will have to ad a lot more oil. I haven't done it this way so I can't tell you how much to ad. Thanks for watching! Would love to hear how it works out for you
Can’t purchase Everclear 190 Proof in my state (Florida). 151 Proof is the best I can buy, and on top of that my distillate is only 80%. How much lechitin would you add to this in place of the Everclear alcohol? Or would you think the 151 proof would be sufficient? 🤨
@@weso18150proof and over is sufficient. I live in Delaware and when they run out of 190 everclear I have to 150 for my tincture. Just be really really careful no open flames no gas stoves induction plates or double boiler using a rice cooker or crockpot.
@Crystal Rock- Thanks for this video! It’s a great resource for getting better results. I had one question though. After the 24 hours in the fridge, I coated them with sugar and put them back in the fridge, but found the sugar pulled moisture out of the gummies. I’m wondering if the fridge was a mistake, or maybe if I mixed corn starch with the sugar that would help.
Is there any issues with the thc sweating out of the gummies? Does using a fan help preventing the sweating of the gummy? I made them non medicated first and noticed they looked like they sweat a little during the 48 hour cure. Ended up great for non medicated
I've never had an issue with the thc sweating out of the gummies but I use distillate, I can't say if using canna oil would be the same result. I definitely recommend using a fan during the 48 hour cure. It will help them dry much more efficiently.
@10:30 place your mold on a cookie sheet or cutting board. Obviously it will need to fit in your frig. I’d use a small cutting board. I’d hate to dump the tray on the floor. That’d be a messy cleanup for sure. Lol!
That is definitely helpful for sure, you can also leave them sit for 10-20 minutes on the table and they should be fairly solid at that point for moving.
Here in the US, for recreational use, you have to be 21 to purchase and for medical use, you have to be 18 to purchase and I'm getting my med card very soon.
This is the kind of recipe I am looking for, true gummies, not jello. Do you have a recipe for those who would be making and using their own oil from flower, rather than a concentrate or distillate, and acheive the same quality results, or close?? Thank you very much!
Could you clarify what the yield on this recipe is? Looked like about 250 gummies. I'm assuming those molds are the 1ml molds? Just doing math on adjusting the recipe based off of yield requirements for batching with different volume molds.
