Really an awesome project. Love the ingenuity. He just needs to watch my knife sharpening videos because I was getting that uneasy feeling watching that knife struggle to cut through the meat ! lol
This was the most inspiring video I have seen on you tube! I shared it with a friend of mine. We are definitely going to build a couple or three of these gizmos. Thank you for sharing!
Da nema tog ćumura džaba sve....super posao majstore.....svak čast sto si podjelio ovo sa svima....prva boca viška od butana ide za giros!!!! Živio i pozdrav od Nektarovskog
Im thoroughly impressed!!! Short of Greece, I think NY offers the best gyro.....Ive had 1-2 good ones in Baltimore. BUT nothing beats a good NY gyro!!!
Pretty freeking good !!! Loved watching you through the whole process :-) One shortcoming ... the coals/charcoal starts at the bottom & works upwards, now near the end the coals are only at the bottom as the fire burns down :-( the top is not as well cooked as the delicious bottom half. Yet ... GREAT !! Thank you :-) Ted & Rosie - Downunder
I think the valve was purposely cut ,in order to keep a chunk, that will become a sort of sleeve beading to retain the rotating shaft(sikh) as the valve material is in bronze or brass. Less friction with steel.
Very nice fabricated idea.you seem to be a good craftsmanship. Most of the comments you received from abroad. They r all foodie guys. Once again i appreciate your talent. God bless.
After he showed what can be done with an old gas bottle I had some ideas how to modify it too. The sky's the limit! I want to modify it to use a long lp burner from an old grill for a heat source, a bottom drain with a catch pan underneath, no open hole on the top but use one 1" pipe with a flue to control the heat...which allows it to be used as a smoker too, and another attachment that holds metal kebob skewers instead of the one spindle for gyro meat. But yup...the sky is the limit for modifications. I just want to know where he got the drive ring and what motor he used. Maybe it's all in the description...I just haven't read it yet.
I'd use lp to start the coals and then turn it off. The flavor of coal is worth the time spent. Removable drip pan for fat and juices and a dustpan type design with handle to catch cut meat rather than the plate. .
And i was about to spend $700 on a vertical broiler and still wonder how to get the wood taste my only outher idea was a tandoor thanks a million or at least 700 amazing video thanks again
