How To Make The Best otter proof Pinfish/Bait Trap 

One of the simplest and best minnow traps I’ve seen. I like cutting the entrance holes out of the solid piece in the bend and leaving the wiring intact between the holes. This leaves a sturdy entrance that remains viable and doesn’t have to be readjusted open with sharp edges. If you don’t have a hog nose clamp you can use zip ties but it looks like the hog nose clamps are better. Thanks for a video worth watching.

I love the homemade brake for bending your wire mesh. Less is more sometimes.

Where do you get the hog ring gun? I build mine 24” x 24” x 16 with an 8” x 4” x 16” baitwell. It will easily hold a 7lb box of tournament chum. Hands start to cramp squeezing all those rings. Great video! Awesome looking traps!

Just curious why you call them pinfish instead of panfish.

This is bunk. Pinfish wont go in black traps. Hot dipped galvanized is best. I live in Key West on an anchored houseboat and have tried both. Black wont work.
