I just moved houses and I’m literally in a different frickin country and I’m supposed to be sleeping but I’m so jetlagged and OMG THIS LOOKS SO GOOD Sorry for the ranting lol
Adding tea to the cream is very clever! Tea adds such a depth of flavor to dishes. And Rooibos is for sure the right tea for strawberries. Earl Grey Chantilly cream with dark cherry shortcake would be delicious, too.
@@darrenchan9707 Sure! It’s kind of bitter and slightly earthy. It tastes a bit more herbal than black tea, but has a similar bitterness. It’s not my favorite tea, but it’s pretty good.
It was the same with the fried chicken. I think it is annoying: We’ve found the best recipe to make this, but will not share it. It should be in the description right away.
Tasty's favorite biscuit could be called the golden biscuit because of how the turbinado sugar bakes into the biscuit and gives it a golden like color (the honey they add also emphasizes the golden like color)
Sumac is delicious and very versatile! It goes great with fruit because it's kind of tart, but it's also amazing in savory Middle Easter dishes. In fact, sumac is one of the spices in the spice blend za'atar.
@@BooBoo-pu1jh Sumac is available at most grocery stores, like Ralph's, but you could also order online. It's not too expensive, either, which is nice. As for za'atar, I have a quick recipe on my RU-vid channel for homemade, easy za'atar!
One thing about I love about watching this channel is that they automatically put ingredients AND measurements so that you can make it at home. Could you guys and gals at Tasty PLEASE continue to provide both because I see ingredients but I don't see measurements anywhere😞 and I'm ready to get in the kitchen and make this bad boy!!🍰
What American dictionary are you looking at? When I type "shortcake definition", it points out it's a cake made of biscuit dough (which this is), and that it's a dessert made from shortcake topped with strawberries and whipped cream (which this is). In America, "biscuit" means a crumbly unsweetened bread that's similar to British scones, yes
@@egyptiansushi a lifetime of experience in the Southern United States says that scone thing is not a Shortcake. Shortcake is like an angel food cake but short
@@angelwhispers2060 what you're used to is the little cakes that you can buy at Walmart. I'm a southerner and I can tell you almost nobody in the South makes homemade strawberry shortcake not even Grandma's bake their own cookies anymore they come out of a package from Pillsbury. Just because you don't know how to cook or just because you don't like how something is presented food has history and it is not your job nor your right to say how it's meant to be presented or how it's supposed to look
With the amount of knowledge I now have of strawberry shortcake, I feel like I now have the infinity gauntlet and don't know what to do with it's power
If they are just bruised, you can leave them on. In fact, slightly overripe fruit is good for macerating because they are already soft and sweet. But if there are truly rotting bits, cut off just the rotten bit and keep the rest of the fruit.
It’s really unusual for me to hear you call scones biscuit, even though I know that Americans use that word. Every time I hear the word, biscuit, I think of what you would call a cookie. Also, I know you know but saying European butter and Irish butter is redundant. Ireland is in Europe.
This was a really great video!! I liked the ideas for different options & the longer explanations, plus the strawberry shortcake itself looks delicious! 🍓
Our family’s homemade shortcake biscuits have a beaten egg stirred into the milk; about 1 egg for 3 C. flour (appx. 12 biscuits). (1/2 of a beaten egg works fine with lesser amts. of flour.)
I have a few questions. 1. Is it okay if I add more butter for extra fat if I don’t have European butter? 2. What is a best substitute for buttermilk? 3. Is it okay if I just skip the biscuit step and use some croissants or flaky pastry? And a Walmart version of this would be whipped cream with strawberry jam sandwiched by a croissant XD
You should call the biscuits “America’s Test Kitchen Biscuit Recipe”, considering this is literally the exact recipe they came up with several months ago 🙄🙄🙄
The butter on the biscuit is what makes it amazing…I had 1 in Maine. It was ahh amazing! The combo of butter with cream or ice cream and sweet strawberries, indescribable!
@@priscillajimenez27 I just used a regular homemade biscuit buttered with regular salted butter and it was just as good! I’m a butter freak, best butter I’ve had is Sams club brand! I’m sure that or any regular butter will do the trick and taste amazing with a regular home made biscuit. Hell, even a McDonald’s biscuit would probably do the trick! Lol
What alternative tea flavor can you suggest for the whipped cream? I'm not familiar with Roobois and our nearest shop only have common flavors like Earl, English Breakfast Green, Mint and Chamomile
“Tasty“ is one of the best channels I enjoyed, recipes are great, and Videos are super cool. I enjoyed also the new channel called "Kitchenetic" with it's recipes and genuine videos prepared completely by a baking and cooking passionate young but expert girl.
Who has European style butter, and what the hell is roobios tea? Stop with the snobby ingredients or provide ingredient alternatives for those of us who live in reality.
Its good that they dont have the writen recipe. why ?always disappointing. Ive tried few of their recipes in the past, NONE of em were great at all. Its amazed me everytime how they managed to get heaps of followers on social media when their recipe are very standard, nothing special at all. I couldnt even sell it. Unlike Natasha's Kitchen, Marion's Kitchen to name a few, Ive tried lots of their recipes and ALL of them were SO delicious that I could sell those food for a living. True story.
OMG i can't wait to try them 😍😍looking at them makes me feel i want it right now , i don't want to work hard to get them but i am gonna do them right away thank you sooooooo much tasty your'r the best cocking channel ever !!
