Jon you need to buy a bulk pak of sponges - Amazon has them 20 for 9.99. The 3 inch yellow ones. The fancy ones I lose so I stash the yellow ones all over the place. LOVE the new mugs - your energy is contagious!
Id have called the design "Mountains To Move" because they look like mountains to me. With light, snow or aurora borealis breaking over them. Beautiful work as always Jon!! 🏔❤
I'm a novice and am now determined to get this shape. Almost had it yesterday but then went in again and messed up the cleaned up lip and couldn't get it back. But now it's me vs. the twisted mug.
What a beautiful scene at the end. Love the snow. Twisted mugs really show off the glaze! Sweet Just cold here in Texas. Frozen cactus and no snow. Bummer
Thank you! I’d been trying a few times with limited success, now I’m going to try again. The list sponge made me laugh as I am notorious for losing everything in the studio ( even though I’m super organized in other parts of life, lol)
Love it. Should get into more detail about the glazing and possibly about the handles. It's a fun design. I would totally buy one of those. Always wonder where people like this come from. Personable, photogenic, charismatic and informative. Knows how to do his job in all kinds of ways and how to make a good video. That's some special sauce.
A thumb up is not enough, I have to say I love your videos and your energy. Thank you to share it! Edit: I've seen that you send your pots internationally, so I decided to participate to your kickstarter project too! One large cup will be for me! And it makes me so happy!
Your best video ever!! :))) SO YOU! Skills, humor, informative, humor, family, humor, SKUTT, humor, kickstarter, humor, so full of N R G! I talked about you in my ceramics class today. :) ...... Are you going to miss being able to run upstairs for fresh coffee?
Hi Jon Those mugs look awesome. Do you wire them off the bat and if so how long before you do so, or, do they pop off by themselves? Guys like you have really helped me fast track my pottery skills and I thank you to the bottom of my heart. Looking forward to more vids on your new studio. Cheers mate
I think those are very cool, Have you tried it the other way where you two figures inside and the stick push in from the outside? That may look cool or bad...
I was taught to use a dry bat. But the more potters I watch the more I realize that they often dampen the bat so the clay will stick better. It was news to me!!!
Jonthepotter thanks for your honesty. At first glance it just seems like it might be more difficult to do while spinning, as you have to make sure you're avoiding the previous divots, but I could see it being difficult to achieve the same spin without the motion sort of allowing you to glide the....stick(?)....upward.
So excited you have added the Twisted Mug to your Kickstarter. I have been planning to join up, but was really wishing I could get one of those!!! Reminds me of one of my favorite songs from Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark album, "Twisted." (Yes, I'm old...but hey, it's a GREAT tune!) Anyway, I am appreciating your Toobs soooooo much! Your energy is inspiring (wish I could borrow a couple tablespoons full), and I have learned a bunch of stuff. Signing up for my second 3 session pottery class. LOVING IT!!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iisYw0epV_Q.html
