For a month now I have been suffering with palpitations and chest pain. 2 trips to hospital and countless tests later (all negative) I was no better. I was referred to cardiology specialist (6 months waiting list here in UK) so decided to try tumeric. I have to say I was surprised when I felt better that same evening, but the next day I was so much better I almost wept. And its 2 days to christmas. I am not 100% but do feel I am at last on the way to recovery. Thanks for posting.
Hi Phil, Thank you so much for sharing this. I am so happy to hear that you are starting to feel better. I will pray that come Christmas Day that you wake up feeling fit as a fiddle!! Love, Mary
Thank you Mary, I just live your shows. Suffer with Diverticulitis. And I've cured myself by taking Turmeric, cinnamon and cayenne pepper . I take a good sprinkle of them into my milk cereal every single morning for the past 8 years. Whether in my oats or whatever you eat for breakfast. I was supposed to have a colon operation, which I did not have. ❤
I really like all your preparations. Mary, your presentation is highly analytical, with distinct explaination, very simple logical and understandable even to a child! Thank you M'am.No one can do it better than you. Your inexhaustible patience and smile makes you as the best teacher, I have ever come across in my life. I am from Bangalore, India.Do more presentations. I have and will continue to add lot of people to learn from you. Your precious time, energy, material value & your monetary expenditures are not s waste. Wait and see, you are going to have innumerable audience !! Your are great! I encourage you M'am! Thanks whole heartedly!!!!
Not to tell you what to do, but have you considered narrating meditation videos? You are like anesthesia! You are so calming to listen to. Yellow lemons, lemon in your tile in the kitchen, yellow hair and yellow on your apron. Yellow reduces depression!
Oh, how I’m loving all of your incredibly helpful shows! Although I’m a latecomer to your channel, I’m having a great time catching up on all of your shows. I’ve studied nutrition for over 35 years, & yet I learn so much from you with every single show. Thank you, Mary! Maria
@@nepcevanhasbenjaminshing436 there are timestamps if you're rushing. Also, it's more than just chop, boil and add honey, she goes over things to add for certain symptoms, and how to prep. Really, there's no need to be rude tho.
I really like your recipes as you understand that there is people out their like me that just can't afford the over the counter remedies. This i can make.
I love turmeric/ginger tea and usually make it in batches of about 3/4 gallon, which lasts about a week. I keep it in the refrigerator and have a cup every morning on an empty stomach... sometimes cold, sometimes hot. Instead of lemon and honey, I add apple cider vinegar and a little raw sugar. I've only been drinking it regularly for a couple months although I learned about it a couple winters ago when I had it for a cold. I can't speak to medicinal properties, but the flavor is very refreshing. It seems that I've cut back a little on my morning coffee, too.
This is great! As someone with inflammation & stomach problems, I've been doing green tea with powdered tumeric and ginger almost daily so I will have to try this out with the whole ginger and turmeric, and definitely need to get some cardamom!
To those is y'all who read the comments it be good to know that cassia cinnamon can also, if you consume too much of course, cause palpitation like symptoms. This is me speaking from experience. However, if you do experience those symptoms just drink some warm lemon water to flush it out of your system. You could also add lemon balm, lavender, chamomile, and/or catnip as a relaxer.
I grow turmeric and just pulled it from my garden today so ik need all the ideas of what I can do with my fresh turmeric...I have way to much I have about 3/4 of a bucket full. So besides drying it, freezing and using in pickles or chutney. Always have black pepper when cooking etc so your body can ingest it better than just having the turmeric!! Thanks ❤
The title of the book same as a recipie for the tea, should be placed on the comment. It be highly accepted by the guest of the program. Lecture was made in professional way. My regards. Jozef
In Indonesia, the Javanese tribal groups use turmeric into healthy drinks called "Tamarind-turmeric drinks". They prepare the ingredients, like fresh turmeric, tamarind, sugar and water. They boil all these things and consume the drinks after it gets cooler.
@@MarysNest Oh...in Indonesia, we call this old healthy drinks "jamu kunyit asam" (turmeric tamarind herbal drink). The Javanese have drunk it for a thousand years. Indonesia has more healthy drinks than people of the West think. I have just mentioned one. Unfortunately, young Indonesians tend to love Coca Cola, Sprite, etc. because they are nice. My pleasure
This is a wonderful idea, Mary and so much wonderful information. We are going to grow more turmeric this year and will try turmeric tea for our health. Hope you all have a very, Merry Christmas. Take care and stay safe, Rob
TY MARY … you are the BEST…with another winner 🏅… I very much DISLIKE TEA …but .. I just made a pot of your turmeric tea with a few added spices and I have to admit… pretty delicious.. I won’t EVER need to buy store pkg teas again 😊
Mary , new subscriber! Just thinking l wish l had a neighbor like you😊.You're JUST what l needed to help w my stomach, etc. My Mom was a Lovely Mary❤. You are a great teacher, l w try my best to learn .THANK YOU, Sweet Lady. I bet you can sing, !?
I drank the liver detox drink for many years. Just one note that needs to be taken into account, turmeric has a tendency to add in bleeding, thus not to be taken when menstruation or if one has an ulcer. I became severely anemic and didn't realize it was the turmeric.
They are not in my first book but they will be in my second book which will focus completely on the pantry including my “healing” pantry. Love, Mary❤️🤗❤️
@@username00009 that is one of the things I CAN have. :) however, it does not have the same properties against allergies as honey, which is where my disappointment comes in.
Or you can have turmeric latte . The fats in the milk will help absorb the spice better. It is a double punch because the milk released serotonin that makes you relaxed and feel good as well.
Thanks Mary, I've been wanting to try this....one of the Dr's on tv was saying Turmeric was good for you, think he was saying it was good for inflammation too, says it only take a little sprinkled on anything you want , just add a little black pepper too ...something about using them together...and you did say that too..... ? I added it to a scrambled egg the other morn. and have been sprinkling it on different foods I eat, can't tell a different taste in the egg either.. but sure found out how it leaves a yellow color on my dish towel....so I am very careful when I use it.....what else do you use it in ? I had just purchased a box of Turmeric Lemon Ginger tea, and it was good....I am not even a Tea drinker, but trying to learn to drink more of it....this one has no caffeine, so I can drink it before bed....
Hi from Northern Ireland! What a lovely find Mary!! Very pleased to have stumbled upon your channel 😊 I, “found” fresh some fresh Tumeric in an Asda believe it or not, but that was in the South of Ireland & I’ve never seen it in a shop near me!! Which is why I grabbed it… however, I promptly put into my freezer as I wasn’t in cooking form that day lol…my question is…is it OK to freeze it?? If so, too late now!! Definitely looking into growing my own though! Looking forward to trying this recipe, I love cardamom too!
Mary, I made the rea and have one serving left over if I save it in the fridge and use it tomorrow will it still be ok if I warm it in the microwave is that ok ? You mentioned a book on one of your videos that was about using herbals for remadies where can I find the name? Love your food and videos!
Mary this has been a wonderful video and I certainly plan on making some of this tea. I have a question can milk be added to this without damaging any of the properties of the tea?
I still remembermygranmotherusetoputa small teaspoonoftumericpowder incconut milk boiled with Fried fish and cabbage I love it but the name was hard I untill now I came to know how useful itis
Hi Mary! I am not able to find your group on Facebook.. can you please check once...not sure if there is any technical issue or something else. Regards, and much love.❤️
Rub your chest and back with essential oil such as basil oil or eucalyptus oil mix in olive oil before going to bed at night and you will sweat out the cold and cough, also cut garlic up and eat it with honey
Hi Nancy, There are so many wonderful healing recipes from the Indian culture! Are you familiar with Dr. Andrew Weil, MD? He is an American who is a Harvard Medical School educated doctor but he writes extensively about integrative medicine and often discusses many of the healing properties in Indian recipes and home remedies. Fascinating!! Love, Mary❤️🤗❤️
This stuff WORKS!!!! I swear by it. The more turmeric I have in my diet, the better I feel: joints, muscles, gut, overall energy levels. Oh my goodness, thank you for this, Mary! 🌻🌻🌻
Me too. After a week of turmeric and black pepper mixed into a poached egg I feel amazing and have lost a little weight. I don't like it in drinks...to each their own.
@gauthapandithht type of diet does the Indians eat ? Because a “Whole Food” plant base is proven to be optimal ~Dr McDougall ~ No processed food ,animal flesh and no dairy products/
@gauthapandithi don't take bournvita, I take turmeric powder in milk with jaggery or honey with a pinch of black pepper powder, sometimes dried ginger powder too
Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) Peace and Blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad. Mary, thank you very much indeed for excellent presentation. Best regards
I gave up coffee for tumeric tea a couple years ago. I went from having high blood pressure to now having normal blood pressure and turmeric is sooo good and I love the golden color.
How can you tell the doctor to get you off high blood pressure medicine? My dr is reluctant to take my medicine off for me. And what if i stop taking mecicine and the blood pressure go up high again? That will be scary. Thank you.
You look like my mother. Your smile makes me wanna remember about her all the time. Whenever I used to have cough she used to give me hot turmeric milk before going to bed. She was a Ved (doctor) in Ayurveda. Anyway I like your videos ma'am. ☺
Y’all are going to laugh… my family has been sick for the past 2 weeks with the fever, basically we are all good now except for frequent cough… I wake up early most mornings and I am so sick of this cough, I had some ginger, and garlic and I’m like what can I do here… I RU-vidd some ideas and came across this video, I was like, I have some turmeric also, perfect, guess I’m making turmeric tea, long story short, 2 minutes into drinking it, no more cough… absolutely amazing, thank you a million times over…
you can also add liquorice to it. It is great for fighting colds. As is cardamom and cloves. They are mucolytic - meaning they help prevent thick snot formation during colds. Spices do a lot more than just marked things flavorful
Hi Mary, I live Liberia, West Africa, I grow tumerie in my backyard. I also learned how to make the tea with turmeric, ginger, lemon and honey for cold and flu. It works well.
I'm pretty new to this podcast and have been cooking since I was 9 years old. I hate to say it but I am going on 59 years of cooking! And here I am learning so many brand new recipes and it's making cooking exciting again. I am very interested in learning natural remedies for illnesses.
@@irenerouse3163l personally think there was a mistake somewhere...NO WAY l can be 63!? Just blessed to wake up another day..and l try to learn something every day. You seem like a real nice lady with a beautiful spirit. Much good health n happiness to you and yours!
I learned about the healthy properties of turmeric tea and love it in the evenings. With the black pepper, a dash of cayenne, some nutmeg and cinnamon, it is such a warm, cozy drink.
May God bless you Mrs. Mary. You are greatly admired and appreciated by me and so many more. You can truly explain so many topics clearly. You increase enthusiasm to make nutritious foods. I never knew how to make homemade apple cider vinegar. Now I do. I plan to make sauerkraut soon too. My husband planted both red and regular cabbage so it will not have any dangerous sprays or chemicals on them. Truly organic. It is a labor of love but it's worth making it. It's very nutritious. Thank you very much.
One thing I love about you (beside all your lovely recipes) is that your old fashion approach that reminds me when I was living in the US in the seventies ? And especially NO background noise (which is called music).
I like old fashion, relaxed, slow channel. Nowadays everything is noisy, fast, greedy of money. When i cannot sleep, i think of the videos of Mary Nest and Nicolas Fairford from London and my heart warms up and i feel happy and i can sleep.
