My 1st batch had no smell 😢 I am trying again with cutting the batch in half, will that work? Maybe I am adding fragrance to early at 190, I thought that's what you did 🤔 but just saw you add at 180..what is best???
If you have a lot of wax in the Presto pot that is left over can you reheat it the next day or do you just through the wax away if you wanted to make only one clamshell how much wax and oil you use love your video
I leave the unused melted wax in my presto pot. I just make sure to keep it covered so no debris or dirt get into it. And for one wax melt you would just divide the formula that I have in the description box for the video by 6. My formula is for 6 clam shells.
Thank you for watching! No, you don't have to rename the fragrance if you don't want to. I rename them just to give my candles their own identity. However if you are using a fragrance that is named specifically after a popular name, for example Love Spell by Victoria Secrets, I would check with the company to make sure that you can use that name. I have a candle with that fragrance and I call it Fall in Love. I hope this information helps!
Thank you SO MUCH for such a detailed explanation!! I’ve been watching so many videos and trying to soak up all the info I can, but your explanations were extremely helpful ❤❤
love your video and all your plants. I also loveee that same wax, but moved out of CA a year ago. so now I cant buy it anymore because with shipping costs I could not profit.. inflation and shipping prices are insane. I fortunately found a small supplier by my house and of course it's not the same but it's very close.. if I can't pick up the wax in person it's not just not profitable for me and I want to keep it soy .. . I also love the white only and really never worry about frosting.. excellent tutortial!!
I know that you can blend waxes BUT I have not done that so I can’t recommend a wax or ratio. I know that 464 is a soft wax and I actually use TW30 because if the higher FO load and hardness.
Hi Sandra...Just found you today. You did fantastic!!! I have made wax for years but love watching how others do theirs. You are worth my time watching. I had to sub. Thanks. grandmarysoaps
New subscriber and I absolutely love your wax melt/candle/sugar scrub content! I would loveeee for you to do a haul on all of the FO’s you use! That would be a blast! TFS!
Hi Sandra - This was an absolutely great video. Thank you so much for outting it and all the details together. I just have a quick question.. what is your wax to Fragrance oil ratio??
my liquid gram and solid grams are never the same. I would calculated the solid wax in grams and I get my 4 clam shell filled and have even 17g left over when I melt it. when melt the wax ( just use a huge wax melter) and then pour it to 255 grams it only fill 3 and nothing left over to fill a sample.
Those aluminum pitchers are $7, the small ones are $4 - any wholesale candle supply site has them cheap. The $$ priced ones are on Amazon and at retail stores. Not very budget friendly. Also, when you see soy “blend” it generally means it’s blended with another type of wax… like paraffin. 100% soy wax is super soft… so….
I’ve never had any issue with the wax binding to my FO. I stir until I see that the two have mixed together. If it makes you comfortable to blend for 2 mins, then definitely stick with that. ☺️
You are such a great teacher! Thank you so much! Quick question? How long do you wait to seal them? And Before burning them how long do you wait? I heard you need to let them cure like for a week? Is that true?
Oh no! I’ve only used Tw-30! I love the high percentage for the fragrance load. Unfortunately I’m not sure what to recommend but I will be looking into other options. Thank you so much for letting me know that they are out.
You did an amazing job in going through the steps of making melt. I’m going to try my first batch today. Also thanks for sharing on where you buy you materials. I’m on a budget so good deals will be a life saver for me. Please continue to share.
Hello Sandra, this video was great and very much helpful. I am starting my own business and will be adding wax melts to my line. I been looking for a great wax for my melts and I cant wait to try this one. Thank you
I just started working with TW30 and I don't get a hot throw at all. The cold throw is phenomenal though. 2+ week cure. I did a search on here and found your video. Do you still use this wax? I was brave enough to order a case after reading all the reviews but for some reason it's not as good (for me at least) as everyone says. If you can offer any help, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!
@@scampos612 I'm using around 15%. I also tried the max % listed on the website and I didn't notice a difference. I keep my wax under 200. Add FO around 180-185. Mix it up and pour around 160.
Thank you so much I will be catching more of your videos. I have most things as in a candle kit but this video has given me lots more ideas and info. Thanks again
I use my Presto Pot and it heats the wax pretty fast. It depends on how full you have it and what temperature you use to start with. For example, I fill my pot all the way up and then turn the heat up to about 350°. I watch it very carefully because I don’t want to over heat my wax. It usually takes around 5-10 mins to heat.
@@scampos612 If you have an oil that has a low flashpoint say like (145-146) do you still add it at 180 to your wax or do you add lower? I was curious if it would burn off some of the notes for oils that are that low of flashpoint.
So the flashpoint is the temperature at which the oil could catch on fire if it comes in contact with flame. Now you can add the fragrance oil to wax that is at 180° however it depends on the oil itself what your throw will end up being. All fragrance oils are different. I’ve never had an issue with my cold or hot throw when I add it to 180° wax. Are use fragrance oils from Cierra Candle
@@scampos612 I just bought the ones you mentioned in your video-the Jungle Goddess and the Cool Water. The one I was mentioning that has a low flashpoint was Fruit Loops by Flaming Candle and I believe it is 146. I didn't want to add it at high of a temp then having the scent disappear. Fruit Loops is a best seller for me. I use my own personal blend of wax but wanted to try something different and use the TW-30 because it is solid.
