thanks for your helping hand and I loved the reference to the children's idiot mittens, that's exactly what I thought of the second you held them up, idiot hands, you can't lose them lol!
Sophie, your video was so informative as fingers are one of the most frustrating things to do. The only thing I wish is your video was clearer. It was never really in focus. Is RU-vid the only place to view it? Thank you!
USA Thank you for making these videos. So helpful. New felter here. I would love to order but banner says on website that orders COULD pay more international fees or some such. Nowhere can I see what these fees are so I don't order.
That is a great question! We have lots of customers in the USA and the shipping cost is higher for them. It will calculate this if you go to check-out on the site, but you don't have to commit to buying the items if you feel the extra cost is too much. As for custom fees in the USA, currently our customers have not reported paying extra on their in, but unfortunately in Europe they have been depending on the country. For this reason we have included this statement. Please email us at info@themakerss.co.uk if you have more questions! Thanks so much!
@@TheMakerssUK OK. I placed an order. Just letting you know that even though I have the box on your website checked for USD currency when I get to final check out where it shows shipping prices and grand total it reverts to GPB currency. It makes it look like it is less than what it is.
Oh I am sorry I missed your message. £17 for the kit www.themakerss.co.uk/products/hand-pack-for-making-wire-armature-hands?_pos=1&_sid=9aabfbdc1&_ss=r
I’ve never felted before but I am going to use a simple kit to learn first but my larger project will need a skeleton hand. So for a skeleton hand would I need to needle black felt lines to mark the bones or wrap those around too?
What an ambitious project! Really looking forward to seeing it when you have completed it. You can use black tops that will make it easier to create the lines. Have you joined our Facebook Group - Every One A Maker yet?
Hi, we recommend using paper covered wire, in 22, 26 and 32 gauge - here is the link to our webshop www.themakerss.co.uk/products/covered-wire-gauges-22-26-32-36-cm-lengths?_pos=3&_sid=070b6a488&_ss=r
I bought the papercovered wire, the wool, I made the beeswax balm... and I tried. But I need a large hand at least half the size of my human hand. Any tutorial on a larger hand with wire...it's for a sculpture exhibition..Help,please!
So sorry I missed your message. You can do the exact same thing with larger wire. We have a 3mm aluminium wire that is great for this! Please email us at info@themakerss.co.uk ask for Alicia or Steffi and we can help!
So sorry we have been enjoying the holidays and didn't get back to you right away. My worry with this is that it remains sticky. The beeswax we produce is actually hard and you must heat activate it with your hands. Does this make sense? Please message us at info@themakerss.co.uk if you would like further clarification. Thanks!
