I have all the great linens myself. I did go the extra step and added a 3 " foam pad between mattress and padded mattress cover. Nothing like a comfy bed to make you feel nice and cozy! ❤
Love the trick with rolling up the duvet. I've tried dressing a duvet all kinds of ways, just figured out to start with the cover wrong-side out, but this looks much better. One little trick I've learned is to put the fitted sheet on one corner, then go to the diagonal corner and put it on, then the next 2 corners. It makes the sheet seem bigger--don't know why, but probably because I'm working on the bias. A fun post! And I love your bedroom. Where did you get your nightstands?
I love this video! I’m always in search of the perfect sheets, so thank you for recommending these. I like a completely neutral look, but love the pop of flannel for winter. ❄️
I recommend a mattress topper that's made of memory foam and it's more comfortable than a temprapedic. It's so budget friendly as well. I have the most awful old mattress: its noisy; its basically a sinkhole and its so stiff and uncomfortable. Just wanted to say that since its helped me so much and I spent less than $100
Wow. Nicely done!! The duvet trick I have to watch multiple more times. PLEASE ADVISE! I LOVE your sweater. Please tell me where you got it. I could surely use your help with my tiny bedroom and large bed. I’d love a one-on-one but don’t know how to do that. Help! I’ll continue to watch your videos. This was awesome. Thank you for posting!
A little tip that helped me was when putting on the fitted sheet I leave a bottom corner for last because it’s easier to stretch on as apposed to fighting the wall or headboard 😊. After hearing you talk about these sheets I might need some!
Thank you hun. You give me hope. One day we will have a comfortable bed..but the sleep number smart bed isn't the answer. Back to the old drawing board. Beauty-rest mattress and good soft pillows sounds inviting 🏵
I have started to make my home neutral with pops of color. Having said that, I like both. I was looking for more sheets and decided to try the ones you suggested. Thank you for sharing 🌷
Love these ideas, SO COZY thank you! I'm inspired to make the best bed possible for myself, I definitely agree that proper sleep is one of the most important parts of physical and mental health.
So lovely!! Great advice! It definitely really makes a difference that the bed frame is so nice. This bed frame has great Feng Shui - a very solid, sturdy headboard in soothing color against a solid wall it seems, with nice space on each side and equally roomy nightstands.
@@thediymommy I think we need an in depth, close up tutorial! Like, a video JUST for that. 😂😂😂 strangely, I was fascinated by it even though I don’t use a duvet! 😂😂😍
The duvet cover thing was an amazing hack...oh my yes a few minutes of showing how to do it would be great. I am a new sub,so yes to that sorcery trick...lol. I have a duvet and I struggle each and every time I wash the cover...🙄.
With my fitted sheets I will use corner garters that go on between the mattress & foundation to hold your sheets in place. This way if you roll around at night, have a thicker mattress and/or mattress pads/feather beds. They help a ton & are safe on the sheets. I just get tired of sheets popping off in corners. Also a fan of flannel sheets in winter & bamboo in summer. Def advise lavender in washing/drying cycles as well as a lavender pillow spray & diffuser. Only other thing I’d add is a scented candle over twinkle lights.
Love both looks. I use the softest blanket I can find & use that instead of a top sheet in the winter & then my bedspread. tfs I can't find a good reason to use a duvet cover. Can you enlighten me?
I think the linen/cotton bedding is gorgeous, looks sumptuous!! Thanks for the tips, looks like new sheets are in my future 😊. I bought a 3 inch topper off of Overstock for our mattress years ago, still happy with it. Merry Christmas to you and your family ❤️. Love the sweater you are wearing!
Thank you, thank you! I have tried several types of toppers and this one by far was the nicest, softest, fluffiest and most comfortable one yet! I LOVE mine. I've had it for a couple of months now and it washes and dries beautifully, doesn’t crush, (yet) and is still as fluffy as the day I received it. I washed it right away when I received it before I put it on the bed and was surprised when I opened the dryer to a beautiful fluffy cover. I will now order another one (BTW mine is a King size) to rotate on my bed because I love it that much! Now, any suggestions on comfy luxurious pillows and pillow protectors? 🤞🏼. Thank you again for the suggestions. Hugs, from Vancouver. 🇨🇦
I prefer a neutral natural look, light colour bedding is what we usually use at my home. I have used fannel sheeting before, but it was also light in colour.
Looks lovely. Do you wash the duvet sheet each time, or just the flat sheet? I'm in love with percale sheets... They have such a cool(as in chilly!!) and luxurious feel to them. I also bought mine in target and and paid for an extra suitcase to bring them home from a trip to the US! I like the one with the colour best!
For this time of year I prefer the one with the plaid sheets(I love plaid!). But the neutral bed is beautiful and better for all the other months. Now I need a wee nap. 😆
Great minds think alike! I have those cotton and linen sheets from target and even my husband loves them! Stay well. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I like the soft feeling of the natural color palette. And I plan to buy new sheets on your recommendation. Thanks for the bedding tutorial! Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎄
We have a Tempurpedic mattress with a 4 inch foam topper. My hubby is weird. LOL I have a set of 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets I use in the summer. They are so slick, they slide right off the bed. In the winter we use flannel but only when the temperatures are low for a while. Otherwise our heat is set on 60* and we have a throw blanket is we need it. We like to sleep in a cooler room. I did like your plaid sheets the most. They looked more warm & homey than the white. White always reminds me of a hotel. Not all hotels are the best for sleeping. My momma grew up with 100% linen sheets. She hated them when they were new. She said back then they were like burlap until washed a few times. LOL We have king beds in our room and the guest room and I always have problems with pillows fitting in the shams. It always looks like no one is home. LOL I have tried 2 pillows in a sham and then it looks like an overstuffed sausage. I have purchased 2 of the cheapest pillows they sell and it still doesn't work. Our guest room has the matching bed garb from the comforter & dust ruffle & shams and the matching throw pillows with the drapes, Valances & sheers to match. Our room is more like yours. Our favorite sheets, a duvet cover and a blanket. Just our bed pillows and an extra pillow hubby uses to watch TV. HUGS~Donna
I had a famiy member gift me with a set of SHEEX. They are a performance sheet for a good nights sleep. They are themost awesome set of sheets I have ever owned. Expensive, yes. Worth it and they wash beautifully. I had bought two more sets...one for my camper and an extra set for my bedroom. I like the neutral look best, but I think it is fun to mix it up with some flannels in the long cold winters.
I like the simple look light color look, my bedroom is on the back of the house, so my room is dark. Your widows are just like mine, I had to get use to it. Love the looks...
Thanks for this video Christina. This is just what I have been needing. I like the Plaid for fall and winter season. Then natural for spring and summer.
