My ex reached out to me on the 30th day exactly with no contact rule. Turns out she was just 'checking in' to make sure I didn't move on. . Three stages of a breakup are sad-mad-glad. The key is to get past sad first and quickly to the 'mad' stage as this is easier to deal with. But don't stay there long, it's not healthy to be mad. . I don't believe advice that says "accept that it's over". Don't do this in the early stages as it will throw you into despair. Keep hope alive that you will get back together...........until it just turns into indifference. Indifference is really what you want.

What should I do? My girlfriend broke up with me like two weeks ago and it made me miserable. We talked constantly 3 days after the break up but then she said she can't talk to me anymore but I continued to try and talk to her so she began to ignore me. after one day of me not texting her she texted me how I was doing and talking like a normal conversation. The no contact rule only works if your ex still loves you... but if he left you, he probably doesn't love you anymore, so why should he miss you? I don't care at all if my ex disappears from my radar because I simply don't love him anymore. The only thing I will think is "Finally! He stopped harassing me all the time" so I can breathe again and start a new life.

Sometimes, people stay in relationships even though it's already clearly over out of comfort, fear, co-dependency, etc -- not healthy. My man and I were together for 2+ years. At 34 and 35, this is long enough to know if it's what you want or not, at least to me it was... after my 34th bday, reality kicked in and I got anxious. I asked my man "what are we doing? Are you ever going to marry me?" And he said he needed more time... we decided to take a week long break to "think things over" apart from eachother. At the end of that, he still said he didn't know. Anxiety (once again) kicked in, and I put the words in his mouth... "oh my gosh, you want to break up with me!" So we broke up. I was devastated. Totally lashed out when I had to see him a few days later to get things at his place. We didn't talk for a couple weeks, and eventually had a brunch to "talk things over." He said he would think about starting over... that was back in March. It is now July... we have hung out quite a few times, mostly fun, but occasionally we lash out. I love this man so much, and know he is afraid of commitment from some previous experiences... What can I do to get him back? Or is it time to move on? I recently started "no contact" about a week ago, and so far so good. I feel stronger and more hopeful about either outcome. Two big questions though: How do you do "no contact" if you live(d) together, have a dog and chickens together - (shared duties)? And 2) Is it best to move my things out so he misses me and I can move on? If so, do I move out all at once? Or do it more gradually?... Btw, I am anxious-insecurely attached, and he is avoidant-insecure...
Give it time and let him miss you first. I can't guarantee he'll want to marry you then but I suggest to never pressure him into it. Let him marry you because he wants to, and not because you're forcing him. lol I hope that makes sense?

My bf and I have been dating for almost 4 years. Last December he confessed that he wanted to end things between us and after doing things like begging, pleading and acting irrational (which made things worse) we spent 2 weeks apart(which he would occasionally check on me) then he contacted me and things were better between us. Hi Brad.I did the no contact for 30 days (with a call in the middle because I missed him so much) ...he actually grew more distant after this. After this period I tried to send text that will remind him of our times together, not bringing up anything negative. He was contemplating going bak with me, even asked me when can we see each other? I replied soon, but did not really give him a date. A week later he said there is no chance and that he did not have any time to see me. When I complained about that he basically said you are a good person but u want more than I can give you. I am so hopeless because I don't want to go on another no contact period. It is too painful for me. I wanna disappear and move to another city !! I am so destroyed over this !!! I know I miss him so much dis is probably the worst time in my life ! I don't see myself being able to withstand saying goodbye. He wanted to remain friends, and I said NO.
Use this time apart to try and see what had really caused the breakup and the roles that you BOTH played in it. What if your ex wants you to disappear? We aren't on bad terms, but she feels she needs to be alone and may be going through depression. I poured my fucking soul out to her. I tried to remind her of every incredible memory we've had. She's given you a lot of hints of why she wants to be alone, so take the hint and give her space, man. If you "need" her back, then you're in a bad position. Our relationship wasn't an official one but we did treated each other like we were bf and gf. This lasted for 2.5 months. Then he started to get away, we began to talk less and less everyday. I was getting really hurt. After some weeks he started seeing someone else. Its been like 1.5 months and he contacts me saying he will be in a relationship. Throughout this time. I had been crying for him waiting for him to change. Then when he said this... SO me and my boyfriend have been together exactly 5 years. I practically lived with him at His best friends house. Well My anxiety gets the best of me every now and then And It came around to "Exam" week at the college. SO I was overwhelmed with being surrounded by dudes I just decided to stay at my moms house. While it's true that some relationships are beyond salvageable and should not be rekindled( i.e.: abuse, numerous instances of cheating, etc.), some are still worth saving and can still be saved if you're not being too passive about it, so it depends. Generally speaking, it's too soon to really be dealing with an ex. But if it's about something truly important, you may want to consider, as long as you're sure you're able to keep it together and NOT let your emotions get the best of you. It's still too risky though. I recommend to cut off contact for around a month instead, since your ex wanting to see you is a huge sign that she's starting to miss you, which is the whole point of why you do this in the first place. Fighting fire with fire can result to disaster. Try to see if there are loopholes to your relationship. What has started the cheating? Has one or both of you become complacent somehow? Look at the roles that you BOTH played that led to all this mess. But how about now? Can you truly forgive him? If the answer is no, then this will become a very unhealthy situation for you both. I understand that trust can be hard to repair if it's broken, so both of you ought to work together to make that happen, but there is also a point where forgiveness just won't come, so in this case, it's best to consider moving on. Man, this sounds irrelevant but my crush, started crushing on me in 8th grade, and now in 9th grade this guy comes out nowhere and asks her out in a week and she accepts, she was dropping hints all last weeks at me and I feel stupid, I feel like she loves me still but is trying to avoid me to dedicate her time to him :(
Sounds like shes a player dude, remember...there is a huge diff between a girl/boy and a real woman/man, its not a gender thing and age is irrelevant. Ive met 17 yr old women when i was in school and met childish 50+ yr old girls... If someone is playing games with you then they are childish, a real woman wont play games with you just to get you back...those childish ppl are extremely self centered, never initiate literally anything...and is a waste of your time man!! Just keep your eye out for those significant factors when looking in a potential date k :)
Yea I thank you for your advice, she ended up saying the were never dating and it was to make me jealous(I'm not) but I felt sad, I learn from someone special that learning to forgive is a powerful skill which I developed and applied to the situation. She confessed how she really felt for me and now we are dating, I'll slowly let my guard down. :)
Have you done your part to try to get with her...or were you waiting for her to make a move? If you hadn't been assertive to all the "hints" she showed you, then she may have thought you weren't interested, so she moved on. Anyway whatever the case may be, act responsibly yet try not to take things too seriously now since you may be in a period of growth and lots of changes, including preferences in attitude, personality, etc. Focus on your studies instead, all right? Im going to try this Ive been with my Girl for 3 years and she broke up with me because she said she doesn't feel anything for me no spark nothing , she said she wanted to be friends but I'm still inlove with her we've been arguing these past couple months tho, but after the break up we acted like friends and I was more patient with her I felt more relaxed but I was still wanting her, so I want to try this no contact thng and see if I can get her back, she said I can text her and call her still but I know she means as "Friends" during this time I'm going to fix myself up , cuz she even told me that I was different she approaced Me and wanted to become something I don't want no other girl I'm honestly inlove with her and I want to make things right again and better :( she seems so hard to get too like I want her to want me badly again
Yes, I second that. It's still important to put the "no contact" rule into priority because if you've been in touch after the breakup too soon, then you BOTH aren't taking the time to process the breakup and been acting like it hadn't happened. Sorry to hear that. It's totally okay to cry your eyes out (just NOT in front of your ex), this is healthy, but try to balance it with other stuff. So keep your mind occupied, get busy with a lot of stuff like hobbies, work, etc. focus on what makes you feel good and take time to heal as well. so please help me guys almost a year ago i broke up with my ex (lasted maybe little bit over a month) and before our relationship we were really good friends and when we got together i just felt this really big pressure on me because i was about to go to a private school(i was so scared at that time bc i had no clue what’s going to expect me), he started working, i had serious issues with my illness and idk i just think i was a bit immature back then and when i broke up he was like no it’s okay i understand but after he got home he started to text me and got really mad at me (which is understandable) i just think we should've waited a bit more before we started our relationship and after some time everything got better with me like school is going great, i'm doing better with my illness and i understand my mistakes and about 2months ago i saw him for the first time again after the breakup then he requested to follow me again on social media after that and his friend wrote me and was like oh could you please write him because he's feeling so down and it would probably make him feel better so i did and at first it was okay but it somehow ended in an argument i just don’t know what to do because i know i hurt him but i still want him back because i think it was just bad timing for the both of us
