Keep in mind that over - saturating your island with only a single species of monsters (Ex: Zynth Islands) generally do _not_ look aesthetically pleasing. For the love of god please don't treat your islands like a plate of food that only consists of what you want to only eat forever & ever, not everyone likes to see a cache of bigified Wubboxes filling the entire island with only select mainstream monsters sprinkled in here and there
Honestly Mirror Islands and Wublin Island (you should still put the whole wublin crew if you want) are pretty much just the islands you want to avoid that rule, but doing this on PLANT ISLAND (your main island) is ridiculous.
In my opinion, putting more decorations makes the island look more cluttered and not fuller and it takes the focus off the monsters. I think simpler islands just look better imo.
Organize your monsters. There's no correct way to go about this, but be sure to have some sort of method when placing your monsters so that they do not look completely random.
I put my monsters in order so like monsters like potbelly first than monsters like furcorn than monsters like pummel and than entbrat and werdos seasonls and wubox in middle
I put my dipsters (named [dipster name, i.e, do, re, mi] DRIPster on my islands) in their order from lowest pitch to highest. Lower is more left, higher is more right, meaning if you read their names from left to right, it would be DO RE MI FA SOL LA TI (not including the Dripster parts in their names.)
Things I like to use to make my islands look better is using symmetry, and ofc placing rares and epics. I like to place the common on one side, rare in the middle, and epics in the other side!
One of the types of islands that I really like are the ones that make it look like the monsters could actually live there, like having some normal obstacles, no symmetry, just something that looks pleasing
My plant island does exactly this. Pretty much all the open space is covered with plants and flowers and the monsters just hang around all over. Heck, I don’t even have the dipsters organised on it
I keep mine symmetrical bc I'm OCD about it in this game. But I do try to make it appear like the monsters actually live there, I have homes for them and the torches have placements around them and all that. It feels a lot more cozy and nice to me than most the messes I see on other people's islands
I usually decorate mine with tiles wherever I place my monsters, and I always keep my islands completely symmetrical Edit: I now do patterns covering all of the island, and just place the monsters as I please.
I’ve seen a style of island years ago when I just started (I quit and started again newly) and it still feels like the peak way to have the island, and I’ll do whatever it takes to have my island look like it
i looove the idea of not removing obstacles but often it looks really ugly if you have paths down so i recommend trying it but if it doesnt look good remove them then buy them back so you can put paths underneath them
I purposely don’t remove the obstacles around the edge of the island, I it looks nice, they change with the seasonal events, and they dont take up too much room. I personally don’t like the look of the extremely crowded chaotic islands, simple decorations, spaced out monsters, nice and a nice path can look really nice and natural
What I do with these tips: Don't copy others' island - I'd never copy anyone's islands. Tiles - Like you said, it's tedious to place and sell, so I probably wouldn't use this, but I'd consider it. Bigger Monsters - I get all monsters to level 10, unless sending I'm sending them to Gold Island, so the minimum level is 10, and maximum is 15. I'd only biggify wubboxes and werdos. Placements - I'd most definitely do this once I get EVERY monster on an island tha'ts when I rearrange my island. Normally, I'd do four sections: Single Element, Double Element, Triple Element, and Special Monsters. Special monsters contain quad elements, mythicals, ethereals, seasonals, shugabush (for plant), werdos, and wubboxes. Decor Removal - I'd do it for each island, but only when I'm like 80% done with the island. Plant and Cold islands are the only ones with ALL decor removed. (Plant: I need Werdos, Wubboxes, and Shugabush which is currently breeding, as of posting this. Cold: I need mythical, ethereal, quad element, werdos, and wubboxes) Glowbes - I'd (probably) place glowbes when I'm 100% done with islands. Fill up all space - I'd like to have my monsters spaced out, so I don't think I'd like it. Island Skins - I'm a kid, so I couldn't buy it myself. I'd have to ask an adult in my family. Theres no way for me to get it besides buying the island skin pack, because it'd be impossible for me, or anyone, to save up that many gems, so the only way is to pay for gems which is a waste, or just buy the 12 or whatever dollar pack. Monster Skins/Costumes - Every monster gets a costume from me.
Another way of decorating with tiles that’s less tedious(I think) is placing tiles underneath monsters, structures, etc. Not over doing it with your tiles can make it look good too, but a lot of people use this method if they don’t want to decorate the whole floor One more way of decorating is using your monsters maybe in a color coordinated way, this could be hard as the variety of colors is so vast but it could really make your island look better, maybe. I haven’t seen this method used and this is just an idea but if anyone has the guts to try it, try it!
monster size obvioulsy doesn't matter. it's its personality. (also i'd say that my monster's size is fairly above average, but keep in mind that that's not important)
I think it'd be pretty funny to permenantly biggify a seemingly unimportant monster, not a quad, not a wubbox, not a werdo, not a mythical, not an ethereal, not even a seasonal just like, clamble and make it the center-piece of the island. Talerze my beloved
I tried making my plant island look cool by tiling the floor and making it symetrical. It took ages to make it perfectly symetrical because I bred two of some monsters to put on either side and moved things around a lot to place structures there. It took me a week of playing it a good few hours a day and when I finished it, it looked good but i realised that everything was 1 square to the side and not symetrical. This hurt.
I humbly disagree with making your islands look full, I’ve always thought it made them look really dumb, I would much rather have a neatly decorated island than an island with no space
Perhaps something about the time machine works and it could perhaps make your island seem more advanced, I used to play when I was young and I used to get so confused of how the speed changes and such 😂
On my psychic island, I’ve covered it all in the purple tile, with the pink tiles in lines going diagonal every now and then. Then in the purple tiles, I’ve mixed in the ones with the tentacles into it.
For players with great monster collections I would add grouping similarly colored monsters together in formations that create a nice visual effect (I'll give my water and plant island as examples of this if anyone asks)
I agree to not making every island a farm, I just wanna get every single common monster since waiting for the rares and epics is gonna take so long, the celestials are also hard to get but definitely worth it to get, only make either Wublin island or the Mirror islands coin farms, Wublin island can be optional whether to make it a farm or not
For the don't remove obstacles bit (I am a person who does this) it might it also be good to remove some obstacles so you have space for decor, monsters, structures... all that jazz.
I had no idea that monsters turn all sparkly when you get them to level 20! Thank you for this information!! I'm gonna turn mine into stars as well! 😂✨✨❤ Overall, your video was pretty informative and interesting as well, I really enjoyed it 😊
Exactly, I couldn’t find stuff like this anywhere when I was working on redecorating my islands. Luckily, I’ve started getting the hang of it since, but this helped me even more.
What i did for my plant island is had a row of monsters down the middle, specifically ones that i probably wont end up getting the rare counterpart, ie shugabush because rare doesnt exist, g'joob, ghazt, entbrat. Then on the left i put all the commons, and on the right i put their rare counterparts making sure its perfectly mirrored, however recently i got a rare entbrat which threw the entire island off, so i had to rearrange the island to account for it, luckily i did this before placing the tiles
I remember a loooong time ago on a guest account I no longer had, on my shugabush island, I used glowbes to just straight make a middle finger hand flip off anyone who saw it and underneath spelt"I *heart* u" lol
what do i do when i have 10 of each dipster on my plant island to get an extra 100k coins per collection, i dont think having alot of dipsters would make an island look good but i dont know what i should do since they give me a few extra coins but it makes my island look bad
I am using the leafstrew(idk if i cz called it right)but im just covering my island with it and making my monsters symmetrical buts its not looking so bad so far,i qill stick with it but should i change it
One opinion of mine is to make your island symmetrical, like one monster on one side while a different monster with the same grid space on the other makes the island good, but I have none of that on most of my islands lol.
I just leave a lot of space for my monsters and then put the decorations they like behind a bunch of trees so it doesn’t look so full (using the love radar thing)
In working on seasonal shanty in a special order: Remove obstacles Place carpets as monsters Left is normal, right is rare Do a special thing with epics
if you want to look like you’re good at the game move you’re structures to one side and put all your monsters to the other. Another way to do this is to just line up your monster by elements.
Symmetry tends to look tacky imo and cramming as much on an island as possible. For farming it makes sense but for wanting your island to 'look good', more is not necessarily better at all (which is 90% of islands)
because I'm a completionist, I have managed to make space for all of the normal, rare and epic monsters on my islands with some space for decorations so I can have the collection finished but still have the island look nice. (but I don't do this on mirror islands because I need coin farms)
What I did is not remove the trees and rocks and just remove in circles if I need to and then cram decorations into the obstacles and make it look super cluttered and it’s surprisingly cute
It might just be me but usually i try not to place the tiles if they go past the colossal and i don’t place tiles aren’t flat on monsters since both of those cases can mess with the perspective of the game
I prefer My monsters and decorations scattered everywhere which gives it the everyday look - the look that you see outside (people near houses, people full of curiousity, people minding their business) i even scatter my dipsters everywhere
we need like a "delete all" for like tiles so u select a tile type and u can type the amount u wanna delete ALSO a like sort of drag tiles so u dont have to buy place then buy place for like 1 hour
i like full islands as long as you have nice placemets and decorations a realy good way to make a full island if you like full islands is to biggify good monsters biggigy are wubboxes werdos eatherials shugabush mythicals or any special monsters idk about you but since for funny i biggyfied all my noggins it looked good btw wild bagpipes are so good on every island no bagpies no no upvote.
I organize my island by how much elements for example the single elements in the front and the quad and special monsters at the back and werdos at the front
(i had to redo air island because i freaking hated it because i didnt like it and it took me like 5 minutes to delete all the paths, because it was a little bit of paths and i was lucky and now i really want to redo my cold island but ITS FULL OF PATHS, also i might never do my plant island because its such a mess and i want all of my islands to be a farm besides uhh, celestial island and celestial island will just be a bank full of coins and some monsters for the full song)
Well you can take out the rocks and trees and buy them sometimes but AIN'T NO WAY ANYONE WASTING THIER GEMS LIKE THAT. You can also arrange them in places like me. I arrange them in the number of elements and put the wubboxes in the back and the middle i put four types of monsters:the quad, the seasonal, the ethereal and the mythical. I also have a suggestion for sorting the monsters: commons rare and epics but try and put them in elemental order.
Well im getting every single monster on amber island and getting them all to max level and guiving them seasonal skins and all my islands will get ther seasonal skins
