Also general rule: you don’t need the mic kissing your lips like the user is doing. Every pop (known as plosives) from the air generated from pronouncing P’s and B’s will literally punch the cardioid portion of the mic. If you have a pop filter on and that still doesn’t work as you think it should, place a fist between your chin and the filter, then have the distance applied between the filter and mic. Adjust as necessary. If you are compressing your audio or using limiters, these pops are going to be the loudest thing being recorded and will ruin audio levels, eq and more…causing more audio issues. High quality headphones amplify these punches too - literally punching the user’s ear drums. You want a clear as possible, even sound, to keep the listener engaged rather than the audio distracting and pushing users away.
Not to forget that the Voicemeeter also has a built in EQ for both Input and Output in which you can adjust even more and fix certain unwanted frequencies or boost some.
@@soa9796 I have no idea I don’t even use this lmao i was just assuming louder everything besides noise suppression (if it’s even an option) would cause a very loud static sound lol
In regards to gates and compression - right click the sound meters and type -3. This will apply a LIMITER of 3db lower of 0db, which tries to act as a wall and restricts the output from being louder. Keep in mind that the more you limit the output, other frequencies become louder and will become a distraction.
Also suggest going from voicemeeter to nvidia voice instead of the other way around, because of compressor. The nvidia voice when peeking or clipping completely cuts off audio. So if the compressor kicks in b4 it clipps then ur golden
Its really amazing program ive been using for long time but don't overdo it, deeper doesnt mean better like you can hear in this video. Find the middle, the perfect spot. So its loud and clear but sound expansive in the same time.
Very simple, straightforward, to the point. I just don't get why you moved the box/dot on the third graph and not the others, as the first hardware column was the primary for sound from your mic.
Thank you so much. My mic now sounds soo good! Now, my $60 mic with voicemeeter applied even sounds better than some $1000 - 2000 mics that I have recorded on in the past!
@@unitedfantv9391 Not 1000k, I said 1000 which is just 1K. I have recorded on real 1K studio condenser mics (you know, the really expensive ones that singers record on) and truthfully, my $60 mic WITH filters actually sounds better than those $1K mics WITHOUT filters
Haven't seen you anywhere bro, not on twitter or twitch, are you ok? This is my go to video anytime I need to fix something in my mic, helped me a lot.
As I grow as a content creator I learn more and more about niche audio/video editing. I just wanted to say thankyou for being the dozenth person to up my content creation game. Heres a like/subsribe/comment! Cheers!
Thankyou, this helped, also, use the "potato" version, as the link OP posted was not the exact version he was using in the video :). Thankyou for the video, Possibly make a video of different plug ins to use to make things more crispy?
I followed your tutorial and it still doesnt really work for me, I have a hyperx quadcast and my voice changed when I followed what you did but I still can hear all the background noise
I have the same mic, but apparently to my friends on discord, it either sounds worse or not and I can't tell because to me it sounds alright on the program but on discord or whatever it seems to not be so good. Yours sounds so good compared to mine and I also have the quad cast.
I set it up last year and it worked perfectly now they changed the program and removed the EXE download button and the entire app has changed it's so confusing man half of the stuff doesn't even work
even when I don't touch the compression I still get a lot of hissing after I talk and people on discord tell me my mic sounds crackly and like a robot, I use the Shure MV7
Maybe its just me but for someone doing a "how to set up a mic video", this don't sound good at all. I'm not experienced in this so I don't' know how to explain what I'm hearing but it just sounds like there is too much bass or low end in his voice, its not sharp or clear if that makes sense.
Thanks for the video! I do however think that your p's, t's and tongue/lip sounds could be improved upon. Can you say how this may be improved in Voicemeeter by changing the default/recommended settings that you show in the video?
To get rid of the p's nad b's you can use good old pop filter. If the tounge/lip sounds are too loud then you can just move your mouth bit further away from mick (then increase input signal or simply speaking louder may be requierd). Cheers
@@BigWeas my inputs is my Hyperx. Do I have to have voice meter in the background for it to work? Cuz when I change my inputs on my pc to voicemeter it doesn’t work.
Just don't install if you don't want it on your PC forever. There's no way to officially uninstall it. It will always sit in your pc until you format your HHD/SSD. Not only that, but every time I boot it up it turns off my anti-malware software.
decided to try this since i was already using banana for splitting my audio. i'm also running a quadcast so i just copied your settings, however my mic sounds so much worse than yours. everytime i speak its picking up my pc fans and mouse clicks which are both literally so quiet and that's with my quadcast at the lowest sens too. i played around with the settings after, tried higher gate and lower comp and although it obviously does sound better than the stock mic, i just can't get it to sound anywhere near as crisp as yours. would love some advise/tips
@@lyssial sadly, i wasn’t able to make my mic sound anywhere near his, quality wise. but for your specific issue, you should be fine if u run your mic through NVIDIA Broadcast and then into VoiceMeter. just select ur mic in NVBC, turn on noise removal and set to desired threshold (i just use max) and then select NVBC in Voicemeter, not your microphone. (don’t forget to go into sound control panel and set voicemeter as default)
So, I have the same mic and did everything you said in voicemeeter and when I switch something or make a change on voicemeteer I don't hear any difference. Plus I'm sure it's been updated but my voicemeeter interface is somewhat different compared to yours, like it's missing some things. Any help would be much appreciated!
When I try to use voicemeeter my voice sounds perfect through the app, but not apps like discord or obs, even though I'm using the right settings in windows and the apps. The voice sounds like a horrible echo and it barely even registers most of the time. Any idea on what the problem could be?
I really need some help.. I use the Quadcast S and I'm streaming on Twitch (with streamlabs OBS), whenever I stream I notice that the click noises of my mouse and keyboard is kinda loud. Or at least noticeable What can I do to fix that? Is there a way to filter keyboard and mouse clicking? I'm not using a mechanical keyboard and my mouse is kinda quiet so it's not like the noises are TOO loud, just that its sometimes activating the mic and it's in the background of my voice when im talking at the same time. I would really appreciate some help with this, I'm a total noob when it comes to this! :D
I bought this mic very recently too and it’s too loud for me to use. Others report the same extreme loudness issues on Reddit. It’s giving me a headache to listen through. Moving my Windows volume slider down to 20 is still too loud for me. The playback through it when you have your headphones plugged into the back is horrifically loud. Are you having that issue too?
ngl your gonna need a decent mid range laptop or pc because people say i sound glitchy in my old crusty dusty laptop. after i got a new laptop people now say i sound fine and my old friends where i test this thing now say i sound way better than before.
this tutorial helps me a lot sir weasel thank you very much very much can you have a tutorial on how to properly connect the voicemeter to google or any other we bor app you were using
Can't recommend Nvidia Broadcast anymore. It's causing static noise (a lot of people posted about it at the Nvidia forum) way too often and there's no solution in sight. Also Nvidia Broadcast isn't good for gaming, because it tends to cut out when you're GPU is maxed out (running a 3080 TI and it still happens).
