When I had locs, I used aloe vera gel to retwist my hair. In that particular case, I also added homemade flax seed gel, a tiny amount of shea butter, a tiny amount of honey, and about a 1/2 teaspoon of pure Vitamin E to it. Ever since I learned how to make my own aloe vera gel, I haven't purchased the readymade stuff in the stores - which has numerous chemicals added into it and is significantly more costly than making your own from a leaf (which is only around $1). Aloe is great for the body - both inside and out. It is great to consume for healthy digestion. It is great for the skin, great for the hair, and can also be utilized as an ingredient for making your own toothpaste. Thank you for this video, Beautiful Queen! ✨👑✨ Much Love to you! ❤❤❤
@@user-qn9fk1xx1i That is so nice of you to suggest. I'm not a content creator, at least not yet. But there are plenty of videos here on RU-vid that are focused on natural hair and locs. One size doesn't fit all. Everything doesn't work for everyone. When I had locs, I tried out different things and went with what worked for me. I would suggest the same for you. Having locs is a journey. I hope that you fully enjoy yours. 🙏
@@Bonafide-mg6sqyou dont have to be a creator to make vids and hey you may benefit from it! But thanks and yes I’ve done trial and error , 3rd set of locs and going more natural this go around has gave me a totally different experience positively which is why i was intrigued in your method it may work for me wouldn’t know until I tried
@@user-qn9fk1xx1i Your third set? Wow! How wonderful! I've only had one set so far, and that was for seven years. I learned a lot throughout that process as well as beforehand and afterwards. There are so many things that I would have done differently, knowing what I know today. One of the key things to remember about the health of your hair is that it is a reflection of your internal health - physical, mental, & spiritual. So to that end, it is critical to eat healthy & stay very well-hydrated, manage & diminish stress, and avoid negative energies whenever possible - always accentuating positive vibrations. As you might also know by now, the health of the hair is also a reflection of the health of the scalp. So it's important to keep the scalp in good shape by stimulating blood flow through a variety of techniques, gently exfoliating it on a regular basis (not enough to disrupt the hair), and oiling it with a healthy oil that promotes a good quality of scalp health (one that works well for you). It is always best to take the natural route. As I said, you have to find what specifically works best for you. For example: In my own journey, I learned that I cannot use extra virgin olive oil or black castor oil because both cause my scalp to itch (sometimes terribly), even though great things are said about both. I also learned that oftentimes less is more. It is good to just let the hair & scalp breathe from time to time. If you'd like a few suggestions for natural hair care, I'd suggest the RU-vid channels of GreenBeauty (which really breaks down the science) and Yannie the Locologist (who exemplifies that "less is more" statement that I made earlier). There are so many channels with so much good information out there. Please explore. It is wonderful that thanks to the Internet we have access to so much knowledge that we didn't have access to decades ago. Have a wonderful day! Much Respect! P.S. If you would like some ideas on how to style your locs, please check out my Pinterest page. My page is titled "Bona Fide". You can most easily find it by entering "BonaFide70 on Pinterest" into the Google search engine. My page is an overall medley of beautiful images that emphasize the beautifully positive aspects of the Black Community. Some of my boards are dedicated to locs - both cultivated and freeform.
How the hell did you get your aloe-vera plant to grow THAT BIG?!😮 btw.. Don't throw out that aloevera peel/husk/skin whatever you call it, that's great stuff to use for rooting plants. Wrap that skin around a plant cutting, put it in soil, it will root. (Overripe bad banana bits help too)
@@TirelesswarriorI use cool water. Some say let it soak for a few hours and that's it. But I find that when i dump the water after a few hours, it still need to soak, so i add fresh water and end up soaking over night just bc lack of time.
I’ve seen it where the bittersap is released by hanging it upside down for a few hours after the first filet. You’ll be able to witness the yellow bitter juice pool at one end and then you remove it to avoid the bitter sap for your own safety
Unfortunately is so much wrong information, I don't understand why people do that 😢 I'm on mission to alert people and look for new recipes. Her leaf is perfect, old enough, but she didn't clean it with good water, not tap water.
For people not having a powerful blender, I recommend blending aloevera without adding coconut oil first to get a nice blend and then add coconut oil and give it a whip. Because of oil the aloevera cubes slide inside taking more time to blend
@@RU-vidrsmiley you can add very little amount of coconut oil compared to aloe vera. If possible use unadulterated wood pressed coconut oil. It in fact nourishes the skin. Also make sure skin is cleansed prior to applying this, so that dirt and dead cells don't stop oil from seeping in thereby clogging pores.
*I’ve seen videos that there is a poison ☠️ tht needs to be removed 1st... cut and open it leave whole then soak or low boil i think..it will come out in the water 👉🏽a yellow toxin slime starts to come off which is that you can pull out the water as it cooks to keep the aloe clean & pure it’s videos to show how to do it!* 🥰..good luck & thanks for this vid!
You can make ice cubes out of the Aloe Vera gel and then you won't need to use citric acid or other preservatives. it will last you forever in the fridge.
For me using a spoon is easier and much safer, I also strain my gel so I don't get the particles in my hair, cause that is a pain to get out of your hair
If you are using it for your hair you might want to strain it to get the small pieces out of it. If the pieces are left in they're hard to get out of natural hair.
Your skin is absolutely beautiful. Its literally glowing, illuminating and so much more. It's so true the saying you are what you eat! Thanks for all of the great health tips.
@@Antoinette469eu faço todos os dias pela manhã e tomo 30minutos antes do café da manhã. Coloco um pedaço pequeno do gel e 500ml de água, bato no liquidificador. Muito bom.😊
Wondering what the rind is good for? The rind of watermelon is full of glutathione which one of the best substances for the body usually destroyed by the stomach when taken as a supplement.
I am pretty sure you can use lemon juice as lemon is a citric fruit and it will last just as long. Don’t take my word for, I haven’t experimented it but it’s worth a try, no?
WOW! I literally just bought one the other day and was going to make this but wasn't sure if I could use apple Cider vinegar or lemon juice as my preservative? (Instead of citric acid) Also, I was told that you had to soak the yellow stuff off before use, is this true? Love your videos.💕
Well I have seen the gel lathered up w a comb into a foamy substance and applied to face. For how long I don't know. Next steps I don't know. Also used for cuts burns however don't know how preparation is done
Aloe vera gel, coconut oil, and the citric acid are all edible. Prepared in this way is usually for skin and hair. It's a great moisturize. If you decide to eat or drink aloe vera it's best to drain the latex (the yellow liquid) first. This preparation I wouldn't use on cuts because if the citric acid. Aloe and coconut oil are both good for cuts though.
Only so much I could show in 60 seconds. I show 3 different ways to use aloe vera in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0Sae6NT79uE.html
What was the cutting board for?? You used it once. If you didn’t want to get the cutting board green or yellow that means you didn’t soak it for long enough time. And you should probably rinse off your aloe or soak the gel for at least 30 min
Debbie, you taught us in a previous video to let the yellow substance drain out first. You didn't mention that in this video. Regardless, thank you for sharing!⚘
That looks so easy to make and so much better than if you bought it one of the best gels for sunburn for scrapes for any kind of boo boos and your face before you take a shower
