If you want to make your own electric roller blind, then the Somfy Sonesse 40 RTS or WT is a good option.
This motor is constructed to be very quiet and can be connected to mains power, so no need for batteries.
The Sonesse 40 WT version is switch controlled (or can be used for a home control system)
The Sonesse 40 RTS has an integrated remote control receiver and can be connected to RTS remote controls and timers.
The kit as used in the video has all the parts you need, including a 40 mm aluminum tube.
All you need to get is the fabric and screws.
The remote control for the RTS version has to be ordered separately as there are many options.

Hi Will, Somfy have quite a wide range of motors now. The video of the Sonesse Utra 30 will be uploaded shortly and the new 24 RTS LI-on just came in so is scheduled for the next month. This means that for a wide variation of tubes, there's a motor available. Downside is that not all motors have the same specs, so some will be 110 V, others 12V. So even when there is a solution it's best to verify which tube will be used before you get the blinds. That's all to say that for many blinds, there's a solution, so you can get one locally and then automate them with the motor and a suitable crown and drive There's another option, which is for us to send you the complete blinds.
