Just built one myself, seems the couplings are different sizes here in the UK. Had to use a 25mm Conduit Coupling, with a 1 1/4" end cap to make the cap. This was a bit loose so scored a groove around the feed tube and fitted a 1" O-ring on it. As for cutting the hole in the top I used a 28mm wood drill bit. Another tiny mod I made was to use a bit of string through the top and in to the pod cap to stop it getting lost in the field. Cheers, Lt.Dan and ModernIntel for this idea.
I'm Lt.Dan LOL. thanks for the props and the "How To" on building one. sometimes i dont even have to shake it for the mag to load. when the mag is loaded with the pod still attached, release the collar before flipping it around so the balls dont fall back into the pod or on to the floor when you seperate the 2.
I found that instead, you can simply get a military canteen (plastic is fine) and load that up with paintballs. same principal, but no work necessary. they hold about the same number of rounds, and canteen covers can also be purchased to keep your "speed loader" attached to almost any vest. (canteens are about $6 each, and filling with them with paintballs isnt much of a hassle.
I will post a video, but you can get a funnel at walmart that is rubber, it fits paintballs perfectly and the funnel fits over the round end of the cap. I cut out the hole in the bottom of the pod, put some glue on the inside of the funnel, and slid it right over the end of my pod. I use an old school folding paper clip to keep the funnel shut, and I can reload the pods from the cap.
@ArmchairTroop, not really since 10 round tubes need to be loaded pretty much 1 ball at a time themselves. The 10 round tubes also would not push down the mags collar and they're only 10 rounds and the mags are 18-20 rounds. You might as well load it by hand. 10 rounds tubes are great for pistol mags tho.
this might help, i have made one just like you have demonstrated, but mine was permanently attached to the bod, if you mix plastic glue(hobby shop kind) with any kind of glue, Crazy glue, super glue, gorilla glue, etc. the stub will attach its self firmly and the plastic will slightly melt making the stub and lid bond in a more secure and firm way.
please do more of these and if you put a small funnel in the inside and just cut a hole in the bottom then glued it to the bottom of the pod cap do you think it would load faster
or what you could do if you dont want to worry about it coming loose is if you already have the 1in cap cut out rings for each side of the cupling and glue those on each side giving enough room on the outer for your cap to still go on
@ModernIntel I watch ALL your videos over and over, i just got excited that i thought you guys were gonna review something speedball for you 100th video LOL. Unless its just a tippman. lol And i got a question for you. You know the t9.1 i told you i got for $150. It shoots amazing, but after 19-22 shots it starts to burp and leak out the barrel any ideas whats going on?
