You provided a brilliant step by step video explaining everything so well. I wish I could just have you here as I am not very tech savvy, lol!! I have wanted to create an oracle deck for years but just didn’t know where to start. Thank you for this!🙏
I just love the idea of having them printed from the card site! I'm printing my designed deck and laminating them for now but in the future, if I plan to sell them, that is the best way to go. Thank you for the step by step peek into the process. :) your cards look great!
Thank you so much for this video.I followed your advice and I went to the site and I made my own oracle cards they just came in today and I absolutely love them thank you so much for this video I truly appreciate it❤❤❤
Hi Ashley, thank you for sharing this video! I did create my own orical cards using the steps you demonstrated. I must say these cards look very professional! Thank you for the excellent instructions. Peace, Love and Light to you.
Hi Ashley, great instructions and demo. I just need a little more clairity. If I were to down load Free Canva prints and make Orical C ards, would I be able to use them on RU-vid to do readings? Thanking you in advance to your help.
Yes they do print on demand. I don't sell my cards as I just made them for me, but you could easily sell on etsy if you wanted! As long as you don't use any copyrighted image!
Hi, Ashley! Great work! I do have a doubt. Should you know if I can create these cards in Canva and sell them or I must create my own images? I was thinkg in creating some cards as collages. What do you think about it?
Yes, you can use images from Canva in commercial projects, but I would review their terms and agreements to make sure you understand exactly what you can't do with the images. Here's the link: about.canva.com/terms-of-use/ I hope this helps! Collages would be awesome!
I have the ideas to make my own oracle cards and found your video just now, because I’m not very artistic! But this is very helpful and informative, thank you so much. Just one question, are all images (paid and free) copyright, as in can they only be used for yourself or sold for use of others?
hey Helen! Copyright means that someone owns the rights to those images, so you would have to purchase a license or the image to use in a commercial product. Copyright free images mean that you can use them for yourself, and you can use them in commercial products, but it can get a little squishy so be cautious and do your research. I like to use image companies where I can pay for images like on designbundles.net and I can buy a license to use those images in commercial products that I make. Make sure to do your due diligence when making a product that you would want to sell to others. I hope this helps you, and have fun with your projects!
I'm trying to find a video where someone talks about deciding what to put on the cards. How many symbols? Which ones? What do you leave out? Where do you stop? This is the confusion for me.
Is it okay to not have a theme and just put in what you feel for personal use? Like. I’m making oracle cards that has like, characters who have strong personalities and places and countries.
Hey Moon Light! Yes! Your oracle card deck is your own, if you don't want a specific theme, please by all means include everything that your heart desires! Your idea to include personalities and places and countries is awesome! I'd love to see them when you're done :)
Good question! You can do this in any program your comfortable with. I think makeplayingcards.com offers a small leaflet print option, but I'd go with Microsoft word or even Canva.com has template options that you could print on your own.
is something going to happen if i do use photos from online? Because i have made a few cards already and didn't check if i can use them. Is this going to fire back at me when they get made or is something going to happen?
Hey Jaxon, I would follow the copyright guidelines posted on MakePlayingCards.com. I think they may reject some of the cards due to copyright, but I'm not sure.
Hey Nickie, I made the deck that I had in my hand, the examples I used in Canva were examples I had made up on the spot. They would be great cards, and that's what my personal deck is like, very simple with nice vibrant visuals. :)
Am I able to make cards just for love readings? I have index cards and want to make a deck just for love readings. If so what would I write down on some? I got a love reading once and I remember cards like “soulmates” and “distance” (meaning there was distance/far away) and the person who gave it to me made her own deck with index cards
Hey Shells, yes you most certainly can make a deck for love readings! Think of "Love readings" as a theme, and then brainstorm what cards would you want to see in the deck? You could totally use soulmates, distance, twin flames, communication, adventure, balance, etc. as examples. Also think of colors and images that you would associate with a love reading. It can really be anything you want! I hope this helps
yeah sometimes you can get stuck coming up with messages! You can keep it really simple, by using a single word or an image that represents a certain meaning to you! I hope this helps! And of course, you can always just find cards that you like :)
I have a question and I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere😭 I am making my first oracle deck for my own personal use. I wanted to use a combination of photos I have taken and photos I have found online for commercial use. The photos I have + have saved seem to be really good quality UNTIL I upload it to my playing cards.com. Do you know what the solution to this is?? I’m so confused ahhhhh
yeah you will need to look at the size of the deck that you're making on makeplayingcards.com they will tell you the required dpi needed for the photos to turn out clear. The specifications should show up in the area where you're uploading the photos. If you've downloaded or saved a photo from like a google search, chances are you're not getting a copy that's the required dpi. For example my deck was poker sized and I needed an image quality of at minimum 300dpi. I hope this help you!
I didn't know this before, but I just looked it up and it does look like you can make larger cards! www.makeplayingcards.com/promotional/big-playing-cards.html
How many Oracle cards can there be to make a deck? I want to know so I can get all my ideas down and if I get anymore, I can save it for the next deck.
Hey Nichole! You can have as many as you want! Most commercial decks are around 60-75 cards, but you can have way more cards or less! Just write down all of your ideas and go with the flow! Maybe you'll have enough ideas and want to group them by topic/style? You can make however many decks you want too :)
you should be able to use pixel size. I'm not familiar with mac but at least in photo shop you would have px or pixel sizes available. And Canva is a website so that will be the same as what you see my doing in Canva in the video. I hope this helps, sorry I'm not more familiar with Mac!
Awesome video! I made a simple personal use Oracle deck with Bitmoji and Canva that came out pretty dope. I posted an Unboxing of it recently. I'd love if you'd check it out 😊
