This is a good series of videos for someone who wants to try making sails for a model boat. In my case, a first A rig for an EC-12. Curious what you're using for tape and whether both tapes are the same? Challenge offers a few different tapes - their AS series (Seamstick), the ASV series (Super-Tack), and the AS3 series (Transfer Tape). I intend to make a few paper sails to try the technique, the use the Challenge DPL fabric for the boat.
Hi MechDoc2, i'm nearing the completion on my 1st Thunder Tiger Victoria. I don't want to use the stock sails provided for several reasons, but have been unable to find a pattern to make my own. Can you provide a link or suggest a where I can source a pattern? Thank you kindly for your video - Mel
I've made a couple of paper sails recently, and had decent luck with the main. For the jib, I can't seem to get the draft to move forward of the mid point of the seam. I'm wondering if you've tried a) moving the deflection screw off center, or b) putting a taper in the beam?
What in samhain!! Lol i watched half this damn video thinkin you were building up to a real sail not some silly toy!!! I need real sails man! Well just gotta give a big fat thumbs down for not specifyin in you title …good lord who makes toy sails anyway??
