im a cabinetmaker and i have seen a few hands that the saw jumped on. most of them still have full feeling and bloodflow in their fingers but it does happen no matter how pro you think you are.
When I was a kid I made a few of these and never had a fancy folding saw. I just used a knife to V cut the branch all round until it was separate. If you do want a folding saw. You should find one at a gardening/diy store. Shop around and you'll find one cheaper than four cans of beer.
Not hating I've watched a couple of these videos and they all require supplies that you don't gather in the woods , I wanna know how to make fires, build shelters , make weapons , and things using all natural things . I wouldn't have floss or tubes if I was stranded in the woods
that awkward moment when someone claiming to be of viking descent claims that viking wore helms with horns on them, when in fact they did no such thing...
Really good making with sling shot really good man article man very good condition and the so many article present in the art you so many different article you good
I thought this was going to show us how to make a Slingshot for survival. Not for Hobby. I thought you were going to use materials found in the wild and not dental floss and rubber tubing. Wtf
Me and my friend have to build a simple machine it’s called and we’re gonna make a catapult/ slingshot because the goal is to get a clay ball from one side of a table to another
Oh man, I can definitely make a better sling shot. i would also chose a narrower V [simply for wayyy better aim] shape on the branch and then use the power band and cut two equal pieces and then attach them all together and secure everything with the inner tube of a bicycle. I used to go hunting rabbits back in the day with my cousins. It was awesome. we always gathered really round stones to use. They are the ones you want to use.
I used to make catapults with tiny wooden forks, when the bands were wound round it you could hide it in your hand, gamekeepers never caught me. But can't find decent square elastic i used.
best wood you can use to me is the purple waba tree, well a branch, that is super strong, and im sorry but power bands are for weak hands, use something stronger, but if you are in the woods, any wood would do just fine
Your idea does make sense, but I believe the power of the slingshot is stronger than the one when throwing a stone, it's also more accurate to use a slingshot :)
I was speaking of modern portrayal not historically accurate depiction. Also I was relating to bobbilopo not mentioning in a prideful random manner. Popular belief to the contrary isn't entirely baseless. Historical and archaeological evidence indicates that priests among the Norse and earlier Germanic peoples did wear headgear with horns in religious ceremonies. Regardless you are just one of the many youtube trolls who needs to implement the catch phrase "that awkward moment" hardly awkward.
Well, I really can't stand when people generalize viking culture into a shortlist of pop-culture remarks. I "correct" you because I really don't like this kind of generalization.
A saw is perhaps *the* most basic tool everyone should own, you can't really make one without a saw. If you wanted to try, you could use an axe, but that's stupid and dangerous. A saw on a pocket knife would work just fine, or a wood saw from a hardware store.
Great a youtube battle hahaha. You’re the only one mentioning "iron helms". Honestly I don’t really care if they wore yamakas or balloon animal hats. Besides why do seek to correct me, because you need to get the last comment? This argument is drifting from the topic of the video into something else which I care not to entertain.
I like the fact that you go right into the instruction and not spend half the time just talking about it,which is what I have found to be very annoying :)
