A spider-man faceshell is a crucial part to any spider man cosplay, but can be very pricy. Here is how you can make your. very own faceshell using nothing but a cereal box and some hot glue. This is what I used for my first ever spider man cosplay.

@@NjArts314 for this. hot glue is the best option. normal stick or PVA glue won’t work as well. and epoxy is too heavy in both weight and scent for the mask. Use hot glue to save yourself

@@Shotbyshot_official what you can do is print it out on standard size, cut it out and tape together the paper template to test it before you make it with cardboard. If it dosent fit, scale up or down the % when printing

You should post some photos on how the face she’ll actually looks under the mask Also,suggestion: you mentioned not being able to breathe or talk as comfortable as other face shells so what you can do is either cut holes or drill holes into it

you can cut and drill holes, however with it being cardboard, it loses alot of structural support doing that. especially if you use bondo and then drill through it

silk dosent use a shell, just the face mask and it normally looks fine just over a face :)

I actually don't recommend pressing tight to cut through cardboard with a Stanley knife. I think it's much better to do shallow cuts over the same line about 3 or more times until you cut through it.

depends on the cardboard type. With this specific one. One solid slice worked best for me to ensure i didnt get stringy bits. However for thicker cardboard, or a thicker plastic material, your method is defiantly smarter.

you absolutely could! one of my first shell attempts I did that. I eventually opted for bondo over the mache, but it works too! Just be careful since it may weaken the cardboard when appyling it w water.

trial and error. print one to dafualt size, test fit it and adjust from there

If youve never seen any of it and dont have much context. Start chronologically. 1-3, solo, rogue one, 4-9. Then you can go back and watch the shows for more context. But the core movies do in order if its your first ever viewing.

For this it’s kinda touch and go. I had to print out a few sizes to see what fit best. Best method is to print one at 100%, make a paper version then size up or down as needed

Yep! freestyle it. print out a smaller version so you can see what the goal is. and apply it to the size you need

the optional steps are to make it more flush and smooth. I’d imagine if you didn’t do them, it would just be a bit rougher or show through a little more.

In that case you may need those materials to get started. Luckliey they are all cheap, and the pritner you can sub out for drawing the template.

dosent matter the size, as long as you get enough for both sides of the shell- weather it’s one jumbo box. or two small ones :)

How do I know if I'm printing it in the right size? I tried printing it as "Actual Size" when choosing settings, but I'm still not sure if it's correct because it didn't even fit onto the 8.5 by 11 inch paper I used

sometimes you gotta freehand the rest of the template if your paper is too small. i’ll tell you now, most heads won’t fit a template on standard letter paper. it may be a case of printing it in sections, taping it together, and sizing up or down from there
