Welcome to How to Design Your Wedding Invitations in Canva!! We created this series of tutorials after seeing the large number of people wishing to create their own wedding stationery, but not being sure where to start! As we love Canva, and use it for all of our own DIY Template designs (for our online store), we wanted to show you just how simple it is to design your own stunning invitations in this free (and paid) program!
In this video we cover:
Artboard sizes (we use a standard 120mm x 180mm size artboard for invitations)
How to start designing on a blank canvas
How to align, position and structure your fonts and event details
How to use hierarchy in your design
How to use prep you invitation for shapes (e.g. you want to produce a shaped invitation such as an arch, oval or more)
How to down and prep your document for printing
Design Notes:
The design we have crafted is based on a rectangular design which any type of online printers should be able to produce with ease. Should you wish to craft a invitation that is a shape, you may need to look for a specialist trade printer who offers die cutting services. Alternatively, we can assist with our Print and Production Services. To view our range of print services, visit our website here.
