Excellent “ he did not do it to me” ,”he just did it” and that is why you were able to handle it in a calm and professional manner. When we remove the “I”, “me” and “you” we are able to resolve things rationally and peacefully and yes it is important to point out to him what was done, to give him an opportunity to rectify. Actually there was a spiritual component to what happened also😉. Yes always self reflect and meditate on what happened to make sure the actions are correct. I always do that.🎉😊
@markmeetsafrica
@markmeetsafrica Год назад
I try to deal with the spiritual side rather than the person. Tue person was I considerate and selfish but the spirit was passive aggressive. Some try to create a scenario where you act out of character to prove some strange thought they had about you being a rude person despite there actions being the cause. Some people live in an almost incomprehensible world apart from the one I live in. I cannot always see it, but when I do, I do.
@cicelysoulsojourn0101
@cicelysoulsojourn0101 Год назад
@@markmeetsafrica yes indeed it’s always better to deal with things spiritually, watch out for the passive aggressiveness I have dealt with that in “Africa” and I know how to manage myself with it now. Where I am now they are in your face which I prefer, I know what I’m dealing with. Yes that acting out of character is to get angry, upset,jealousy etc. But our true characteristics are of Peace, Love, Happiness etc. You handled the situation with grace and dignity, but yet still letting the soul know it was not appropriate to act without consent. I have been described as an “anomaly” (worlds apart from the one I live in). I will happily play that role.👍🏾😉😊

@markmeetsafrica
@markmeetsafrica Год назад
Thank you for making a comment like this. I try to be neutral in these situations so as not to break the person. Even when people make a mistake, many still find a way to make it your fault. Neutrality allows me to become e a mirror for them to look at themselves without going to their level. Sone do it intentionally and it is a passive aggressive tactic used to get you to act out of character. It goes soo much deeper than the action and moves into the real of intentions. That is the spiritual side of it.

Why would he even take it upon himself to do that? I never heard of such a thing. Regardless of how ignorant an African worker is he would have never went above a White American mans head, an Indians head, European or an Arabs contractors head to do such a thing. Around these other people they are quiet, subservient and do what they're told and only what they're told to do. You are much more understanding than me. And as a manager myself I could not deal with that type of work ethic. Good luck brother.
@NikkijBerryman
@NikkijBerryman Год назад
In my opinion, you are off base in this scenario. No one referred to this man as ignorant. And it’s irresponsible on this platform to suggest that he is. Mark only spoke of how he didn’t believe he was being malicious (bc he knows him) and thought he was being helpful but made assumptions that he shouldn’t have. This man would definitely have done this with mzungus of any race or nationality. I have never seen a Tanzanian man be quiet, subservient or kowtow to a mzungu in any situation. Being a manager is one thing, being a brother is a whole different perspective. Mark is endeavoring to impart knowledge and wisdom as he builds. “Managing” the situation as is done in the west is not always what uplifts the community. It was out of place to disparage this man, especially after hearing Mark’s account.

This is a not so common thing. On a spiritual level, he was being passive aggressive because he likely wanted to see me act out of character. On a basic level, he wanted to get the work done quickly because he was being paid for the amount of work he did per day. He needed materials to get the work done faster to be paid faster so his logic said that the only way to speed it up is to get it done himself. Though his logic was not complete, it was HIS logic.

My dear brothers and sisters, it is a travesty that we must endure such staggering obstacles just to return to the land from which we were forcefully taken. We were torn away from our families and our identity, yet no one came to retrieve us or even remember our abduction. And now, as we finally return to our rightful home, we are met with resistance and hostility. Other groups have ravaged and plundered this earth, exploiting its natural resources and leaving it empty and depleted. Yet they turn a blind eye to the diaspora who only seek to find their way back home. The British, Chinese, and Indians come bearing gifts of development and prosperity, but we must be vigilant and aware. They seek to rob us of our fortune, seducing us with shiny objects and luring us with false promises. We must read the fine print and understand the terms of their gifts. Let us not be swayed by their words or blinded by their greed. We must stand together as a united people, proud of our heritage and steadfast in our commitment to build a better future for ourselves and those who come after us. As I always said, "A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots." Let us remember our roots and claim our rightful place in this world.

So right Mark it’s the principle. Your intelligent communication with them will rub off on them eventually and lead to more considered and considerate behaviour. The word will spread too. As more people seek to work with and for you they will understand how fair and honest they need to be if they must progress themselves and with you. Your emotional intelligence is 💯too! You are also a good coach and teacher! Mark, I look forward 19:41 to seeing you run coaching workshops for diasporas and locals alike to help bring their emotional intelligence to a productive level. MERGE EMERGE. 🧗🏾‍♂️On the flip side here in the west re marketing and sales etc. Amazon has created an overzealous market where repeat business is pushed. Apparently this leads to mountains of returned products either because the products were wrong or pre-ordered. Customers have a month or so to return unwanted items and get a refund ! Apparently there are AMs warehouses piled high with dumped returned goods…in my opinion its a serious problem of waste and pollution too. 🤷🏾‍♀️
