My guy is the sweetest most loving and people friendly. Completely non aggressive. He is not that big... he has had to fight a couple of times. He is ferocious and completely capable. But wouldn't hurt a female dog or any human. He is perfect.

We are experienced dog owners, from giant Mastiffs to mini dachshunds to everything in between. We rescued a,Pitt mix four years ago and 10 months ago got him a buddy, an XL Bully puppy 2 months old, Moose. We spent a lot of time working with him and exercising him. Moose loved the flirt pole and frisbee. He was great at frisbee and loved swimming in the pool. He loved people and never had any aggression to our two cats and other dog. But right after we neutered Moose, a switch flipped. He started hunting the cats and terrorized them to the point they lived under the bed when in the house, or we had to pit Moose in his kennel while the cats ate and socialized with us. Then the food aggression started. I worked on food aggression from day one and the dogs ate at designated spots with no incidents. But the other night I gave each of them a treat and Moose grabbed his and then flat out attacked our other dog for his treat. Moose started being protective, not letting us love on our other dog without running and confronting us quite aggressively. Then there was another unprovoked attack over a toy, of which we have dozens in the room for them to play with. And finally, today, I got home from playing frisbee with Moose and as soon as I opened the door to the house, he attacked our other dog. This was a violent attack and resulted in several deep gashes to our other dog. I am certain if I had not been there to pull Moose off, he would have killed. That was it. We made the decision to euthanize Moose and are just sick about having to make that choice. Our vet told us that the American Bully breed is a crapshoot and there are a lot of bad outcomes because of the genetic disposition of some lines in the breed. Be careful, people, and spend a lot of time to know you have a reputable with a line of sound temperament. They take work like any dog but they especially need a routine, vigorous exercise of the body and mind, and you might be fine. Be careful with this breed.
