If you want to be more secure you should block third party keyboards as well. Thanks for your videos

Yes, it’s so easy to implement and end users don’t have to have their personal device fully managed

Great video as always! How about a follow up video that focuses on byod, unmanaged windows laptops… presumably much would be the same, but still…. Thanks in advance.

Jonathan great video as usual. You explain it in a simple and easy to understand manner. Is it possible to do something similar with apps on BYOD Windows, Mac OS devices or is the process completely different for them?

Awesome explanation!! I have a question, if I set a BYOD App Protection Policy and apply it to all users, how would I have a user, use one device as MDM via Intune (lets say Company issued Phone) vs also then using a personal iPad as BYOD? Would Company issued hardware be loaded up in Intune first/Manually switched as Corporate Device? Scenario not limited to Apple, could also apply on Android. Maybe Scope Tags is an option? Devices != Corporate Owned? Thanks again!

Excellent video. super explanation. I have two queries. 1. You said we need intune license for configuring app protection policy. If i have mix of M365 E3 users and O365 E1 and i applied app protection policy to all users, will both users can access applications? how the licenses will impact here. 2. Is there any policy which will block user from accessing outlook using any other app other than microsoft outlook ?

Great video, thanks for sharing 😊👍🏻. When a phone connects using this method is it visible in Intune or Entra? Is it possible to then wipe the corporate data remotely on it if you don’t want it connecting any more?

Amazing video! Could you also show us how to prevent people from signing into Office using a web browser? Secondly, if you set this up for Android devices, does it require them to download the company portal application?

@Jonathan Excellent video and explains A LOT! Thank you. But, I have Intune and a personal Android 13 phone. When connecting the phone to my Windows 11 machine, via a USB cable, I cannot access the SD Card via Windows Explorer. How do I enable this?
@bearded365guy

Is the computer in intune too? USB storage devices enabled/disabled?

@@bearded365guy Thank you for your reply. I do have my Windows 11 machine on Intune, and I sign in using my 365 Account, making the machine a Windows 11 Business. I can insert normal USB memory storage devices with no issues. But, when I connect my personal Android 13 phone to a Linux OS machine, again, the SD storage card does not appear via the File Explorer. I have found a physical solution to the issue by removing the SD Card from the phone itself to access it, but, it isn't exactly convenient.

Great video and editing!! Educational and super fun to watch!! Quick question - if I have a few users on O365 Basic and few users are on O365 Business Standard license, is any way I can buy add-on MAM license?

Hi @Johnathan, I followed your instruction but user still can download the file from team and email to personal devices. Here is my case: I only have 1 license premium and assign to the global admin. I configured the application policy as you instructed and tried to login to teams with other credential (Basic license) on the personal phone ( iOS) and i can still download ( make a copy of the file) in teams. Does the policy only applied on user who has Premium license only?

Have you done a videos on MDM. I have sent up the setting in this video for my staff but for my own work phone (separate to my personal phone) I would like to be able to remotely wipe it if it was ever stolen

I just set this up for 1 test user and when setting up Outlook on Android I got a popup saying I was required to install the "Intune Company Portal" app. You didn't mention that in the video - is that accurate, or did I do something wrong?

What happens after you implement these policies to people who are already accessing company data on their personal phones? Will this automatically be implemented, or will there be an action they need to take?
@bearded365guy
@bearded365guy 9 месяцев назад
It will automatically be implemented. Try doing it for a set of test users first.

@@bearded365guy Oops. I should have read this comment before following the video lol. Deleted the policy. Thankfully at 6:40 am on a Sunday I shouldn't have scared anyone. Now creating a security group for one person and will try this out later. This probably should have been part of the video to avoid any oops moments. I want security for the organization but I don't want to be "that guy" either and implement policies without impact or at least provide advanced warning.
